Did anyone receive (purchase) a 2021 before the factory suspended production? Opinion/observations.

 

If the MINI Dashboard tracking is correct, my 2021 F56 shipped out just before production was suspended, but must be stuck at the Port of Baltimore.

 

Ordered placed February 18, 2020. Vehicle arrived via Port Hueneme/Oxnard, CA and arrived at dealership in Seattle on April 10th. I get the keys on Friday April 17th. Sixty days total.

Wife has a 2021 JCW Vert that got put on a boat, but has to come all the way to California before another boat to Hawaii. Hopefully we can still afford it by then #covidsucks

 

Today’s the big day and you can bring your new MINI home! My MA said that he would check on mine sometime this week, but I read in another post that the off loading facilities in Baltimore are basically shut down...oh well all I can do is hope that this is not true.

 

My MINI was released to the transport carrier and should get to my dealer this weekend (through the Port Hueneme VDC). Hopefully sometime next week I'll get the car.

 

You get it? Does it have the new digital cluster...

Wife's car order was placed 2/2/2020, was built as 2021 JCW, just arrived in Honolulu, and it DOES have the digital cluster...........and it has a little JCW logo on it!!!

 

Does the entire display turn to orange at night?

 

Congratulations! Is your new ride going on another ship ride or arrive by air? Just curious.

 

As an FYI, not all 2021 models have the digital combi (gauge cluster). Only the ones with Nav XL (navigation and the 8.8" center screen). Cars without Nav and with the 6.5" center screen will still have the analog gauges that came on all models through 2020.

Another ship from Honolulu to Maui, first available slot isn't until 6/15 though so still more than 2 weeks before we see it in person and drive it :-(

 

After quite a long pandemic induced delay I brought my new ride home today. Some day I’ll be able to edit my signature and update it to reflect what is really in the stable!

Congrats to all! Ordering a car=fun. Waiting=drag. But in the end, it's all worth it for sure. The digital display looks nice, btw.
I'm a noob on this forum and to the MINI world, and was wondering what kind of discounts y'all are getting on a custom build? Thank you in advance.

 

It's my experience you get no discounts on a custom build, you have to pay a deposit up front ($1k in 08 and 12, but $3k this last time) and you have to buy the car when it comes in or you lose the deposit....but it goes towards your purchase price of course. Regardless, I'd never order a MINI any other way, that's part of the lifestyle, getting exactly what you want.

 

I ordered my last toy and it was my first time custom ordering a car. It was nice getting exactly what I wanted. Enjoy your new MINI in good health! Mahalo.
