Anyone Know What's Changing for Model Year 2021?

Looks like when the Oxford plant reopens they will be building MY21 cars. What's changing on the Electric?

My service advisor was optimistic that they might start adding new colors for 2021. Nothing confirmed though. Certainly wouldn't expect any mechanical changes.

Surprised no one has posted an Ordering Guide yet. Assume the dealers must have them by now.

If I've heard correctly, sunroof delete is now a zero cost (but zero savings) option on the 2021 m/y

The sunroof delete option (no-cost/no-rebate) was available with the 2020 SE. I have not heard of any changes for the 2021 model year, which makes sense, considering that there are now spy photos on the 'net of a face-lifted (vertical slots replace the fog lights) 2022.SE. There are also rumors of an infotainment system upgrade for 2022, but that may be as simple as the addition of Android Auto, which BMW is getting sooner.

MINI's mirror-cover pages indicate the mirrors changed in July 2019. So the 2020 and 2021 mirrors would be the same. I haven't heard of any differences between the 2020 and 2021 MINI Cooper SEs for the US market.

My Sales guy said that we had to wait for mirror covers to come in because they changed the design and they were waiting for them. That was on Wed. I assumed b/c we were picking up a 2021, there was a change. Thanks for the clarification.

You are fortunate, b/c they are not doing that at the USA dealers on the E-Mini.

Just get the Signature trim level like I did. No sunroof.

Oh, we wanted it. We want it fully loaded up. Things I would have added if I could: "Adaptive Dampers" and "Illuminated Union Jack Dash" and "Rear Fog Lights" (So you get the switch) and "Chrome Interior Trim"

I believe you will have a blank switch unless you get the Iconic trim level. The blank space is not for the Rear Fog Lights (like on my old Mini), but for something related to parking. When I saw the Sig+ model at the dealership, my first question was to ask what the blank space is for. I never used the Rear Fog Lights in my R56, but I got it just so there wasn't any blank spaces in that row. My OCD I guess...

Painting improvement in Mini Plant Oxford

Plant was closed until 1/17/21 for the paint line to be improved/changed. Found this photo of the new "baking process" Wouldn't want to be in that car at that time.

Photo of improvements made to Mini Plant Oxford's paint line in Jan. 2021
