From what I've read on this forum, it seems like their quality has been falling off for a while now and regardless of that, they are all expensive to fix. Maybe folks are picking up on that and not buying them?

Whenever there is a new model change folks hold off until the new model comes out so there is a dip in sales--usually in summer. That said, October is way up.

MINI brand achieved its best October sales ever. A total of 28,834 vehicles were delivered to customers worldwide, an increase of 13.4% compared to the same month last year (25,420). Sales of the all-new third-generation core MINI three-door model leapt 53.7% compared to last October (15,920 / prev. yr. 10,361). Year-to-date MINI sales still reflect the model change earlier this year; deliveries total 236,363, down 5.3% on the first ten months of last year (249,702).

Good points, and they aren't cheap to buy. I've been driving them for 12 years now--all first gens and loved every one of them (always a have a euro sedan on hand so not a daily driver). Like most of us, I find the car awesome to own, look at and of course drive. PURE FUN! I think BMW/MINI got into too many iterations, some seem superfluous, but that's just me. Fuel economy may be an issue... they were never impressive. For one thing, who can drive it sedately!? And another , I don't think they are engineered for fantastic mileage. All that said? MINIs rock and sales will be cranking again before long.

I have my current car up for sale and am going to put in the classifieds here, in case you or someone you know may be interested. It's insanely modded out and in spectacular condition with 25k mi. It's on cars.com right now http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/de...9928/overview/. Curry's in VA did all the mechanical work -- it's track ready tho never been tracked. KarTunes did the way over the top audio. Please spread the word! Why sell? I 've had it for 3 1/2 years or so and it's gotten where I rarely use it any more. I have 2 dogs and would prefer many times, to take one or two in my 'fun' car but obviously can't with this one since it has no backseat. (it's in the house). Thanks !

New model release, stop-sale due to EPA fuel economy ratings, etc.

Relax. Mini is fine. Just at the bottom of the wave right now, lots of stuff on the horizon.

Quality has improved. Mini customers want to custom order their car and this process had major delays
