No UJ/BJ Mirrors on 2020s?

As we all know, they changed the shape of the side view mirrors on the 2020s. Anyone know if/when they're going to offer UJ and/or Black Jack mirrors again? Or if the older shells will still fit? Guy I asked at the dealer on Oahu was clueless.

I'm sure they'll eventually offer the UJ or BJ but I doubt the old ones will work if they changed the shape of the mirrors. Where did you hear that?

Here is one example of the 2020 mirror caps. That's not a shadow or reflection you might see, but the new crease to improve aerodynamics.

The "mirror end" still looks to be oval; which begs the question, is it the same size oval? If the oval is the same size, I am left wondering if the new and old caps are indeed interchangeable.

I just picked up my 2002 JCW HT and it looks like the mirror shape itself is similar to the pre-2020s. The outer decorative cap, as noted, is shaped differently. Older caps might fit. Someone is going to have to try to be sure. I have an older style cap and might give it a go.

If all the internal parts of the mirror assemblies are the same, then we can be sure it's just a cosmetic difference. Realoem.com might have MY 2020 parts info, not sure.

8 speed sport auto. Believe that’s all that is available for the 20 jcw at the moment. Need it for my long commute. Had the 6 speed auto in my previous jcw ht and it turned out to be acceptable. I heard manual 20s are on hold.

Bug and stone catchers, just like the front bumper.

Wow, that's a big change to the design.

How is it? My wife can't drive a manual so one of the reasons we were waiting for 2020 was the new transmission.

Great. Smoother than the older 6 speed sport auto. Shift speed about equal to the 6 speed auto when puttering around. A bit faster when pushing it. Decent transmission if you have a heavy commute or just need an automatic transmission. It is also a bit lighter than the 6 speed auto and supposedly delivers better fuel economy (if that matters to you). Th shifter design is new and more of a modern BMW style design. Hope this helps.

Here’s the gratuitous first image posted of my new JCW. Added the full JCW Pro aerokit, Pro exhaust, and illuminated door sills. PPF installed and ready to motor...

My friend is a MINI service advisor. I asked him yesterday whether the mirror caps from an earlier F56 will work with the new 2020 mirrors. Unfortunately, they will not, as the mirrors themselves are different. I’m not in the market for a new MINI, but for me, this would be a deal breaker. I think the new mirrors are hideous. They look like what you would find on a Subaru or a Civic. The older style mirrors were a sort of modern version of a classic mirror design. Also not a fan of the electronic shifter that comes with the new DCT. It’s just a stock BMW part. MINI could have made it a bit more unique.

Anyone know any motoring advisers they can ask when/if UJ/BJ mirrors are coming?

As with every new model, aftermarket stuff takes awhile to come out but it will eventually. Patience my dear friend.

So they're back on the USA Building Page, but my adviser says he doesn't know if they're actually out yet. Anyone have any different info?

Update for everyone from the Sales Manager at my dealership (about to put in the order for my wife's 2020 JCW Vert).

"No specialty mirror caps are available as of today, however we have been told that they will be available within the 1st Quarter (sometime between now and March.) How accurate is that? We can only rely on the information that MINI passes on to us."

realoem.com only works for BMW and MINI production up to March 2019. They won’t ever get info for new cars because BMW shut that system down and stopped sending disc to dealers. Their system is now dealer only and web based with login thru the dealers credentials.

Let me know ASAP if you hear about the mirrors, even better if you can order them I'll buy them on the spot....prefer NJ but BJ works too. Put in the order for wife's 2020 CR JCW Vert that's all blacked out, it'll be about 4-5 months before it reaches us in Hawaii but REALLY want those mirror caps for delivery day!!

Prior to purchasing my 2020 Clubman JCW I did A LOT of research by watching YouTube videos. There was one video in particular back from a launch event for the 2020 Clubman JCW that showed off some new accessories, mostly JCW stuff since it was the JCW model they were showcasing. Mirror Caps was one of those accessories, which has the same new design as the F56 Mirror Caps. The JCW version even had a new graphical design. So I imagine it’s only a matter of time before these get released for purchase.
