Ok- got my order from Lohen- Helix clutch kit and Quaife LSD. Also opted for their install kit, which included fluid, a few seals and bolts. Thanks folks here for the info & recommendations. Went with Helix as it includes a somewhat lightened flywheel, but priced a few hundred bucks less than Clutchmasters. I guess Lohen worked with Helix on the design / specs, so I felt like they probably knew what they're doing. And it appears Lohen installs an awful lot of them.
Took about 4 days to arrive from the UK. Brought it all down to Jan @ RMW in Anaheim. First catch- the clutch didn't come with an alignment tool! Kinda silly. Would sure save a lot of headaches to just toss that little bit of plastic in there!
Anyway, now it's in, and a couple hundred miles on the road. I love this clutch! Pedal feel is slightly LIGHTER than my stock S. Engagement maybe slightly higher, dunno if this will change because it's not self-adjusting? Anyway, not an issue. Drivability is so much better than stock. I didn't realize- the stock clutch disk is solid, not sprung. The only dampening is the rubber on the stock dual-mass flywheel. Which basically sucks. The Helix has the typical metal springs on the disk. Engagement is much, much smoother than stock ever was. Both from a stop, and between gears. Less lurching. Less drama if I don't perfectly engage. Just so much better.
It holds my power no problem. I'm on a stage 1 tune with IC & exhaust.
And the slightly lightened flywheel is very welcome too. It's easier to rev when engaging, and more responsive between gears. It's not a night-and-day difference like an aluminum flywheel, but just feels really, really natural in the car. This is how it should have come from the factory. The clutch now simply gets out of my way, and lets me drive the car well. That's probably the best you can ask of any clutch.
Briefly on the Quaife LSD- wonderful as well. It's something you only experience when driving hard, but really changes the car into a something that performs. I'd say that without a doubt, if you do any driving at 8/10ths and up, you gotta do clutch & LSD together while the tranny is out. Don't consider doing one without the other.

I can't give a good answer... I had mine done like 5 years ago, and had the LSD put in at the same time. But I had no trouble calling around to Mini specialty shops and asking how much. They should have done it before, and should know. If they don't have a fast answer, go somewhere else.
I don’t have the answer to this question …
but JCW/SD clutches have different part numbers and don’t appear to be cross compatible with the MCS ?
not sure if that’s an actual fitting issue, or just higher part specifications …

question…
I am seeing both21208600213 and 21208600211 as being compatible with both MCS and JCW on various websites. The LuK part numbers are DMF198 and DMF215. Can you confirm if the F56 JCW flywheel can be used on an F56 MCS? There seems to be about a 10lb weight difference between the two, but Sachs shows the one ending 213 as being compatible with both MCS and JCW. Just need confirmation before I place my order on ECS.

21208600211 is the clubman S and the cooper S, 21208600213 is for those JCWs on the F55-F57. Might work, but the stack height might be different. Or it might be just the load dampening on the JCW.
Let me talk to Luk. Everyone is on holiday so it might be a couple days.

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-luk-part...208600211~luk/ Cooper S
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-luk-part...208600213~luk/ JCW.
I dont have them side by side here. My guess is the JCW dampens a higher TQ value?
