Clutch time....recommendations?

So it seems I am plagued with all possible issues with my current clutch. I have excessive flywheel chatter, the chewy noise in the morning, and my throw out bearing gets ridiculously stiff and groans when depressed when warm. But even with all these issues the clutch doesn't slip at all but I fear the worst is coming.

My car is an 06 MCS with little over 65k and the only mod done to it is a WMW 15% reduction pulley. I don't ever plan on tracking the car.

I've been looking around at clutch/flywheel combo's. I am trying to keep this as cheap as possible as I don't really have a lot of spare cash laying around. the only decent priced kit I have found is on detroittuned.com http://www.detroittuned.com/shop/?productID=492

But I haven't been able to find any reviews on that clutch kit.

also I plan to do the install myself but have been curious to know what are shops charging for a job like this?

OEM replacement at 110k for $1200. Then doubled that by throwing in a Quaife...

I think the owner of TSW had that clutch installed....he liked it. Valeo is rumored to be the OEM on the MINI.....the difference with the kit is that it has a non-dual-mass flywheel...so it may idle with a bit more NVH....but this change saves big $$$. I think many shops charge somewhere in the range of 10 hrs labor.....

I wish...I have to work, and with our schedule, swapping weeks that we work must be bid almost a year in advance.

jeffster06, i'm curious about that single mass flywheel you linked to from DT. Anyone have personal experience with it? Currently my dual mass flywheel is making noise at idle and I think I might of heard the chewbaca noise a few days ago when starting from a stop on a steep hill. I just wouldn't want to put in a single mass flywheel and have similar noises at idle. I also have the squishy/crunchy clutch pedal. However, the clutch is not slipping at all so it is not critical to have it replaced immediately.

That clutch kit has an attractive price, we can sell them, but I haven't put it on the website yet, cause I'm waiting on getting more data on how well it actually works and lasts. So maybe we'll have to just install one and see, expensive way to go but until then it's all somebody else's opinion.

from what ive been told the valeo IS the oem clutch. I personally upgraded to a clutchmasters stage II and love it. It has a good bit mroe bite while still maintaining a lot of around town stop and go traffic drive ability. honestly though i might go with something grippier next go around (hopefully that isn't any time soon) as i can actually smell clutch cooking when i do mountain runs with my schools sports car club.

Your school has a sports car club? I don't want to be rude here but how many kids have crashed their cars so far?
