F56 Armrest Fan Question

I've retrofitted the wireless charging plate in place of the snap-in adapter in my armrest but my phone is constantly overheating. There's a small fan inside the armrest to the side that should be running, but mine isn't. I don't know if it's always running (and mine is just broken), or if it just turns on when the snap-in adapter is used (which means I'll probably have to dig deeper for codes).

It'd be greatly appreciated if some could check their fan to see if it's always running.

Thanks!

My car has the wireless charging from the factory and the fan only runs when a phone is actively charging so far as I can tell.

Your car with the from-the-factory inductive charger in the armrest has a fan?

My 2019 does not have a fan and I can use my iPhone as a toaster. I’d love it if there’s a retrofittable fan for the armrest.

I have that arm rest and I bought the universal iPhone adapter so that my iPhone 6S is hardwired into the car when the lightning cable is connected. I did not realize there is a fan in the universal adapter, but I’m guessing it is activated when the phone rests on the pressure switch button that’s on the universal adapter.

To clarify, the fan is there with the wireless charging adapter that is installed in the armrest for some of the trim levels. In the case that the wireless charger is installed, there is no phone connector or anything in the armrest.

Hello Fb, Would you be able to send me more information about where you purchased the universal adapter? This sounds like the easiest way to go to be able to use the armrest input. Thank you,
