F56 no amplifier

Hi guys,
I have a stock mini with no amplifier (F56). Yes I checked the small panel on both side of the trunk. Does anyone have a mini like this? Can you use one of the aftermarket upgrade amps on here? Are the connections still made and just bipassed when the amp isn't there like mine?

so, i also thought mine didnt have an amplifier because it wasnt in the rear left quarter panel like its supposed to be. however, i recently started installing a radio, and when looking for the speaker wires at the oem radio plug, they didnt tone out unitl i powered the turn on wire. therefore, it absolutely must have an amp. i havent dug any deeper yet, but im thinking maybe its further towards the front in the side panel than what can be seen thru the small openings in the trunk.

Just buy an aftermarket amp with speaker level inputs. Don't know of any amp besides the HK amp in the rear side panel. If you have an S model then you would have the Active Sound Design module behind the driver side panel near the rear seat. Assuming they have not changed locations during the production years of the F56.

i dont have the HK system, but theres definitely gotta be an amp. 4 twisted pair of small gauge wire at teh radio brain, and there are heavier gauge wires at the speakers, and also dont tone out with the tone generator unless i put 12v to the amp turn on wire. i havent dug too deep yet, so i dunno for sure, but that info tells me theres an amp somewhere.
i have speakers in the door, rear panel, and the 8s under the seats. maybe theres another model without the 8s? i dunno.....

So, I l just got the diagram from my tech at mini the other day, and the factory amp is on the drivers side, in the panel next to the back seat, not in the trunk area.

That's an amp combined with the Active Sound Design module (which plays fake engine sounds through the speakers). An HK system would have an additional outboard amp as well: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...ystem/GaRdAReW

At the same website, you can find wiring diagrams for your stereo: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...one-most-ring/

Is there an amp you can add in there easily to boost the power to the system? I've only got two front and two under the floor speakers so its often too quiet.
