I followed DunkM's instructions on my UJ tail lights for the Brake Force Display. The brake lights are what flash on my car under heavy braking. They flask a few times quickly and then go to solid brake lights. I imagine that's what you'd want on non UJ tail lights. My two brake lights plus the 3rd brake light are what flash, and then go solid. The turn signals do not flash, and only act as turn signals.
Do the tails blink when the brakes are pushed even if the vehicle is not moving or does the vehicle have to be in motion for them to blink?
I just followed the instructions above and mine don't blink when pushing the brake pedal.
I have a 2016 mcs without UJ tail lights.
I haven't gotten around to trying this myself, on my new-to-me 2016, but I thought the flashing tail lights were only during hard braking (as noted, hard enough to activate ABS).

I'm new too my mini too, but I understood it as there's 2 functions, one that under abs conditions your 4 way flashers are activated until brakes are released and second function is that your brake lights and 3rd flash a few times then switch to solid brake lights like normal. I maybe wrong though in which case that would explain why they don't activate while parked in my driveway lol.
So I have 2016 MCS US spec. Do our cars come from factory with "brake lights blink during hard braking" or to get that function, the above must be set?
