Brake Force Display BLINKING WORKS!!!!!

WORKS!!! Kudos to DunkM for this!!

Lets discuss BFD for us WITOUT UJ taillights!!!!

OK:
Changed
ESS_AKTIVIERBARER_AUSGANG to blikend

Changed

MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_1_L_OUTPUT -> bl_l
MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_1_R_OUTPUT -> bl_r

Changed

MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_2_L_OUTPUT -> bfd_l
MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_2_R_OUTPUT -> bfd_r

Since BFD 1 is the extra brake lights on BMWs, and BFD 2 is blinking tail lights.
It makes sense to map BFD 2 to just bfd.

Also changed ESS_BLINKFREQ_1 and _2 to 5Hz

Lastly

3060
WB_GB_ENABLE = active

will activate the flashers during/after panic ABS stop!!
Flashers turn off upon releasing brake and resuming speed.

Totally european!!!

Simply changing ESS_AKTIVIERBARER_AUSGANG will change it to flash the taillights. However, this will cause an error though.

You should be able to change the brakes to flash the same as the Euro UJ did by changing:

MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_1_L_OUTPUT -> bl_l
MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_1_R_OUTPUT -> bl_r
(this removes the error)

and

MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_2_L_OUTPUT -> bfd_l
MAPPING_BRAKEFORCED_2_R_OUTPUT -> bfd_r
(this makes your taillights light up.)

I would need someone else to confirm this works as I have not have.

I disagree. As in the Euro cars, you do not want the turn signals to blink. As the turn signals are also amber.

See below.

As a note, turning your hazards on does not equate to emergency braking, that is the reason why you do not want your turn signals to blink.

I followed DunkM's instructions on my UJ tail lights for the Brake Force Display. The brake lights are what flash on my car under heavy braking. They flask a few times quickly and then go to solid brake lights. I imagine that's what you'd want on non UJ tail lights. My two brake lights plus the 3rd brake light are what flash, and then go solid. The turn signals do not flash, and only act as turn signals.

Do the tails blink when the brakes are pushed even if the vehicle is not moving or does the vehicle have to be in motion for them to blink?

I just followed the instructions above and mine don't blink when pushing the brake pedal.

I have a 2016 mcs without UJ tail lights.

Below are screenshots of my current settings.

I haven't gotten around to trying this myself, on my new-to-me 2016, but I thought the flashing tail lights were only during hard braking (as noted, hard enough to activate ABS).

I'm new too my mini too, but I understood it as there's 2 functions, one that under abs conditions your 4 way flashers are activated until brakes are released and second function is that your brake lights and 3rd flash a few times then switch to solid brake lights like normal. I maybe wrong though in which case that would explain why they don't activate while parked in my driveway lol.

So the brake/3rd brake light only flashes over 40mph braking?

Correct, approximate. (Heavy Braking based on programmed negative G forces) The car has a yaw sensor.

The 4 way hazard , if programmed, goes off during full panic ABS braking to a complete stop.

So I have 2016 MCS US spec. Do our cars come from factory with "brake lights blink during hard braking" or to get that function, the above must be set?
