Will post more pics when after they get installed. As always, shout out to my peeps at IND-Distribution for the making me break my promise to myself to stop modding.

They are not. These are actual Brembo brakes made by Race Technologies. I think the JCW Kit may be made by RT as well but not sure, but they are different kits.

the rotors gave it away...i'm no brake expert but the little i knew was that the JCW kit isn't as fully brembo as a true kit...and this seemed like it but just wanted to confirm. thanks. does look perty...and probably cost you an arm and a leg.....and a few extra toes.

Out of curiosity... is it possible, and would it make sense (cheaper), to order the same JCW kit through other routes? Like figure out what Brembo part # the calipers are (pic above?), get some 3rd party rotors, and the only OEM MINI parts are any mounting brackets.

just mentioning what has been spread around, and that is that the JCW kit, while stamped as brembo, isn't your typical brembo kit. i personally do not know the difference and only wish someone would jump in and explain the difference.

Well for one, my wheels fit these brakes and I know my friend who has the JCW with the JCW BBK couldn't get wheels made in my offsets to size to fit over his brakes.

As far as quality of one over the other, I wouldn't be able to give a definitive answer. But I know aesthetically, I like these a lot more.

From one website selling this Kit:

"MINI offers Brembo Brakes on the JCW models, but the JCW brakes has smaller 335mm diameter 'solid' 1-piece rotors (not drilled or slotted) compared to this Grand Turismo Kit with 345mm x 28mm 'full floating" 2-piece rotors with Aluminum hats for less unsprung weight (for improved handling). The discs supplied in the kit feature an exclusive venting system that improves cooling capacity and increases resistance to cracking caused by thermal shock by over 40%. The holes or slots in the braking surface help dissipate heat and eliminate brake dust and gases."

Okay. Less than a half inch difference in diameter, but I really do like the two piece rotors. I wonder how the replacement prices will compare. I haven't looked into that yet. I guess you could say my front rotors are solid because they are dimpled and slotted vs drilled. But, you could say the same thing about the Brembo kit too. And you're correct... The JCW kit is not your typical Brembo kit simply because it is made by Brembo to meet Mini specs.

Yep, I wasnt sure if you were saying that the Brembo Kit wasnt built to Mini Specs. Basically misread the way "simply because" was being used in the sentence.

Hey! I had to take english in summer school to graduate back in '65. Good thing they offered technical writing in lieu of english when I went back to school.
I do love the looks of your system though. Do you have to update the software in the car like you do when you add the JCW Kit?

Hahaahaaaaa.....it was 100% my fault.

As far as software, I'm not sure. I don't have any aftermarket coding and I haven't seen any error messages or anything, so not sure if I still need to have it checked out. Everything is going as normal.
