F55/F56 F54 Owners?
F54 Owners?
Has anyone bought a new Clubman yet? I can't find a forum for the clubmans. I test drove both the S and non-S today and loved them both. S is of course more fun, non-S more chill comfortable everyday car.
I've been amassing pictures from dealer photos online trying to get an idea of what color combo with what rims look like etc. I was hoping there were some owner forum photos started already but I guess not! So did they just get these in the dealers? I haven't been following it, just started shopping the other week.

That's the best list until we get an F54 section for the Gen 3 Clubman on the forums. Most people I heard love it !

I'm really interested in the drivability of the Cooper vs. Cooper S with an auto. I have a CMsa now, and am looking to trade it for the Clubbie. Gas mileage is important, but I do like to run the canyons occasionally.
Driving impressions, anyone?

The non-S is a 6 speed auto. I drove one with 17s. The overall suspension was softer and the car didn't feel as confident setting up in corners. I didn't drive the non S as fast since it didn't feel like it wanted to go as fast. It was "quick" enough to get up to speed but not fast. I liked it for what it was. More of a commuter cruiser, more comfortable.
The S just wants to run more, get into corners etc. I spend 95% of my time on a freeway doing nothing though, so it's hard when you never use any of that potential. I still think the S is the better car for not a whole lot more cash. But it's just what you feel like having. 2 different personalities.
Overall though on both the brakes were lame. No bite, soft squishy. I guess this is a mini thing. Used to BMW brakes. Currently have a 330i and brakes are aggressive on that. Even my 20 year old m3 brakes harder.
Don't think it's a MINI thing, the F56 brakes feel the same as both my e46 and e36 felt, they are very linear and I like it alot. Also, M3 brakes have always been crazy good.

New Clubman
I was fortunate enough to drive a new Clubman Justa. While I still prefer my F56S, I felt the Clubman to be a very high quality car. It handles and rides great.
We have two cars and my wife hauls around grandkids and my car is just too small and inconvenient for her. The new clubman would be perfect.

I work at a dealer and just picked up an F54 about 3 weeks ago. S auto, JCW exterior and interior, chesterfield indigo leather, loaded. Only options I am missing are the paddle shifters, alarm system, garage door opener, heads up display and the active cruise control. It's on a lease so I can't do a whole lot to it, but since I work at the dealer they do give me a pretty good deal on accessories and knowing the technicians helps covering the cost of installation. When I get a chance I will clean it up and snap a few photos. A coworker just bought an F55 S and he was having his wheels powder coated so he was driving a Justa F54 that we just got as a service loaner and loved it. Came close to getting a JCW R60, but the boyfriend wasn't comfortable in it but he was comfortable in the Clubman so I went with that. Looking back on it I am glad I made this choice.
