Do you know if the ALL4 is the same as used on the countryman or is it a different system?
From what I read in press releases and from what the dealer explained to me, it's a next-gen ALL4 system - lighter, more efficient, and more beneficial in non-slippery conditions than the prior (the press releases provide the technical details.) I believe it is slated for the 2017 Countryman as well.

. That would make sense, it's probably the newer Haldex system that I've also seen on smaller Land Rovers like the Evoque and Discovery Sport.
The earlier LR 2 had the similar 'simple' Haldex Coupler system that I think was also on the All 4 Countryman.
Yes, on the official BMW/Mini information page, they list a permitted trailer load on the spec sheet released with their "press kit" and draw attention to the hitch as being "the first time a hitch is being offered with a Mini." They even include a close up hi-res photo of the hitch to show it off. However, each of these three things is missing from the US-specific data.
It's one of those funky (and unfortunately shaped) European tow ball hooks. Not sure if they've engineered their mount to accept a US-style receiver. Looking doubtful. Besides, if they allowed a factory-supplied non-proprietary fitting, how would MINI make $$$ on overpriced racks?
I finally got to drive one of these. It seems like it would be a nice car to drive and definitely would be functional. But the one I drove had the sport auto and was nearly $38k. I want the manual and less price. LOL!
Now what comes to mind is how soon will someone have a sway bar and the other fun goodies? I wish there was a dealer near Asheville, NC. That would at least let me find out if it is anywhere near as much fun as my R55.
I registered today and introduced myself over in 1st Gear just to post in this thread. My 2017 Clubman S ALL4 6MT went into production today toward early April delivery and I am psyched. Thunder Grey with white roof/caps/stripes, loaded (save for pkg assistant, illuminated sills and rear fogs.) I went with the silver 17's for New England roads, but I really like the look of the 18's and may explore them and throw snows on the 17's after seeing how next winter goes. Pretty funny that I was able to order one before MINI has any ALL4 info on the configurator, but I'm not complaining!
Are you sure your car will be a 2017 model? I've never heard of a new model year prior to about September. My dealer said they'd be selling 2016 All4s until the fall.

100% certain it's a 2017 model, corroborated by the MINI tracking site and my spec sheet. Your dealer may have been referring to other models of ALL4 like the Countryman, which may not go next-gen til then. My car is the first production Clubman All4 slot for my dealership - there is no option for a 2016. If there were, I would have taken it, as the dealer informed me that "Boot to Bonnet" maintenance is being scaled back for 2017 models to exclude pads and rotors.

Greattttttt, if I want included brakes under warranty, I need to buy a new Clubman soon............:rol l:
Or, I frame it as..'Honey, we gotta buy that new MINI now or we lose out on freebie brake jobs',.......

That's actually good, because my dilemma was buying now or waiting to get a 2017. Thanks for posting.
Also, I learned something new: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_year
"In the United States, for regulation purposes, government authorities allow cars of a given model year to be sold starting on January 1 of the previous calendar year. For example, this means that a 2017 model year vehicle can legally go on sale on January 1, 2016.[2] This has resulted in a few cars in the following model year being introduced in advertisements during the NFL'sSuper Bowl."

Also excludes clutch, drive belts, and wiper blades.
So it's more like "Boot to Bonnet except for the bits that wear out".
(It was the wiper blades that really pissed me off. That's just nickel-and-dime bulls##t. I don't know why that irritates me more than the big stuff, but it does. It's symbolic.)

Talked to our inventory person today and they showed me the sheet with all the ordering info on our first ALL4 F54. It says right up at the top MY17. That will be an interesting have a 2017 on the ground of one series of one model...sounds to me like the death of the R60 ALL4 right there.
On a side note. I was joking with our MINI rep a couple weeks ago about all the mods I've done recently. They came back last week and asked me about my mods again. I said the car was holding up well. They responded good, because they will be getting a faster Clubman in a few months. I looked at them and the said JCW F54.
Test drove the 2016 Clubman S today. It is a nice and refined family car! LOL Similar to a BMW baby brother wagon.
Then the F54 All4 WILL be an interesting test drive for us later this year...as our F31 lease is up a year from now. While a configured F54 will consume the better part of $40k.....that's MUCH less than our existing 328 xDrive M-Sport Sportwagon and my "CFO" said its replacement's budget will be much less

I just noticed last night on MiniUSA the Cooper S Clubman ALL4 is available to configure...
The bad thing is, I did, ...and I am at $44,546.00 that's MSRP of course; and not what I'd pay! Plus, the wheeling and dealing on price...
Still, might have to scale some of my options back a bit
Well, I have never had a Mini. I have had 28 different vehicles in my life, not counting my wife's. I was kinda thinking of getting something different and I happened to run into the 2016 Cooper S Clubman at February's Chicago Auto Show and fell in love, especially when I saw the ALL4 appearing in March/April.
Has anyone heard, if I wait till maybe Fall to order, that the CarPlay or Android Auto interface will be out yet?

Hah! Looks like the completely stripped model with no premium paints (only one option!) is coming in at just over $30k.
Let's see… goes off to tinker with the configurator ... Red, stripes, winter package, LED headlamps, roof rails, spare tire... $33,000 even. Not as bad as feared.
Of course, then I'd want to drop a couple grand on a JCW tuning kit when available, and fit my own amp and speakers…
So my MINI order tracking newbieness got the best of me and I thought my Clubman ALL4 was on a ship because it said "Booked"....Checked the next morning and the ship had filled up and left port before my and 59 other cars with the same booking # could get on...."Return To Shipper"....Goodbye Tongala, hello Carmen and at least another week til it's "Loaded on Vessel"!
Here's my baby (before the advertising wrap is done next week)
She is a 2016 Clubman S Melting Silver, Technology Pkg, Cold Weather Pkg, Wired Package, MINI Yours Leather Lounge Blk, Auto Trans, MINI Yours steering wheel, alarm, garage door opener, power front seats, satellite radio, MINI Yours Piano Black trim, Black anthracite headliner
Ah, that MINI yours package,... so nice . Like the contrast wheel stitching and the gloss black trims.
Congrats
Thanks! I love it so much...I had my first few days of getting used to this car and I'm a BIG FAN now. I love the details, the trim, the accent lighting (which is teal blue now for my favorite color)...I've learned to kick right so the rear doors open for me (which took some practice), and I LOVE the way this baby drives.
I blew the piggy bank on the leather seats, but they are gorgeous...and I love the Union Jack on the headrests.
I have to say, I'm not really missing too much of my Lexus at all right now. Hubby took it to the airport and I thought I'd miss that car and the luxury, but I find this car is luxurious enough, and FUN too.
Just got done test driving both the S and non S and I love them. They are really like a baby wagon. I would like to get a 328d touring wagon but I don't have $48k lying around.
Anyway, has anyone noticed the "gurgle" (if you could call it that) on the cooper S clubman between shifts and taking your foot off the gas etc. I know modern trannys do this sometimes, but it sounds more like clunking instead of an exhaust note. Just something I figure will be fixed with later models or aftermarket equipment. A small detail but it's the only thing I noticed that I didn't like.
Otherwise handled really well and the transmission found the gears really easily. No turbo lag, has enough power to keep me happy and a great interior with an awesome package for car seats in the back. I'm coming from an 06 330i and it's a lot more chuckable and more fun.
