Nope. Mine never skipped a beat.
You might try going to the bluetooth menu and forget the device. Then re-connecct/sync and see what happens. Glad I saw your post because now I have deleted three loaner Mini's, two rentals cars, and a truck that I no longer own from the list. Good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll be interested to see what others have to say. I did what you suggested a couple times. There are two separate issues here:
1) Bluetooth connects but does not play music even though music is selected
2) When you connect via lightning USB cable, the message on the audio menu is 'Not Supported'.

Not sure if it matters but it's an iphone 6s if people are trolling the forums and find this post.

Cheers.

Mine is a 6, so I don't know if that plays into it.
I did have a problem once when it quit playing Amazon music. Somehow the volume on the phone had been turned down. Damned gremlins!

No trouble with my iPod Touch.

I have had lots of trouble with perfectly fine looking cables. I spin the connector around 180' and it connects ok.

Always first thing in troubleshooting is to force close all the apps and restart the device, and like posted previously, that's a perfect time to forget devices.

There's definitely something going on here

Ok, so I just went through some very interesting iterations of testing with this. At this point I'm thinking it is related to iOS 9.2.1, but there's one other factor at work here as well, I use a Fitbit Charge HR. Here are a series of tests I just ran with the Mini and playing audio:

1) Change cables: Failed big time. Using a different Apple lightning cable makes the phone continuously vibrate twice like it was just plugged in
2) Play audio using bluetooth while paired to FB: Failed
3) Play audio using USB while paired to FB: Failed
4) Reset the iPhone using the home and power buttons then play using USB: Failed
5) Unpair the FB and play music using bluetooth: Passed
6) Keep the FB unpaired and use USB: Passed

If anyone else uses a Fitbit as well it would be interesting to see if the behavior is the same. This is 100% reproducible. I guess I'm not using the Fitbit for a while.

For what it's worth I joined the customer beta program today so i could try 9.3 beta 6 and it seems to have improved the behavior. I'll continue to monitor. Really strange.
