Typical Order to Delivery Time?

Greetings,

My wife's lease on her Lexus GS350 is up in Feb. She is wanting a Mini (JCW). What is the typical order to delivery time? I'm trying to plan ahead to coordinate as close as possible the delivery of her new JCW Mini and turning in her Lexus. The timing doesn't have to be perfect as she works from home, just close.

Thanks,

One of the largest variables is time before production begins. JCW's sometimes experience lengthy delays. You need to ask the dealer(s) when their next JCW production slot is.

As others have said, there are many variables. Our Justa took exactly 4 months from order to delivery. But, the timing was during the 2016 model switchover which may have delayed getting into production.

I've ordered 5 MINI's over the years, and most of them have taken about 2.5 to 3 months from placing down a deposit to driving off the showroom floor. The notable exception was my latest, a JCW, where I put down a deposit before they began production.

I'd say if you put your order in with an dealership that has an available production slot for a JCW in early November, you should be set for early February delivery. Definitely make sure the dealer has an available allocation for the JCW, as not all do, and some will try to take your money without having an allocation. Be firm with their transparency.

I placed an order yesterday for a JCW and was told to expect at least a 3 month wait.

Seattle is the final destination.

I put my order in for my JWC the first week of September, it's now built and awaiting to be shipped across, it's looking to be about 10 weeks from order till delivery.

I was lucky my sales man was honest about this, some dealers have used up there production slots, I was told each dealership gets two slots a year and after that they have to either get another dealership to give up there slot or you just have to wait it out.

Find out what the production date will be first then go from there - barring any unforeseen circumstances (ship delays, customs delays, port strikes, damage repair or accessory install at VDC), the time from production date to arrival at the dealer is usually 6-8 weeks for a CA delivery. Your dealer can also be a bottleneck as well. When the car comes in, they have to PDI it (peel off stickers, take off suspension blocks, install a few small parts, program it, test drive, detail) and how fast they get to it and how fast they can get through it will depend on the dealer. Most take about 2-3 days.

I've ordered both of my MINIs and both were almost exactly 2 months from production date to delivery.

Justa F55, ordered August 21 and delivered to Maryland on September 28. The production date was insanely fast, as it was completed on September 3. The rest of the time was sitting at the dock, shipping, and sitting at the vehicle distribution center as I helpless refreshed my tracking websites over and over and over and over...
