F55/F56 Rev matching 3>2?
Rev matching 3>2?
I don't think my '15 MCS with Sport Pkg does rev matching when I downshift to 2nd from 3rd (manual trans.).
If this feature is available I want it. How do I get it? Do I already have it but need to set a setting or learn a procedure? Does the dealer need to program it in?
I can rev match reasonably well myself using the throttle and clutch, the old fashioned way, but if there's some new computerized feature I definitely want to try it out. Thanks.

Some people said theirs doesn't rev match 3>2 either, but does in higher gears. I think there was some mention of dealers getting a software update to fix it but it sort of died here. There's a thread about it, search for rev matching and see what you get.
I also have a 2015 Cooper S Hardtop and it does NOT Rev Match from 3rd to 2nd. I was just into the dealer last week for my first oil change, and asked about it or any other software update for the car and they said there were none. I keep hoping they will update it sometime in the future...
This is fixed with recent versions of the software and there is a bulletin out to the dealers about this. Give your service department a call - I think the bulletin was SI M 12 03 15
Software version should be F056-15-03-500 or newer - a key read in the service department can tell you what software your car is on.

Update: I've been testing and experimenting with settings and shifting patterns and am now convinced than my '15 MCS does indeed do the "rev matching" when shifting down from 4th to 3rd. It does NOT rev match when shifting down to 2nd (or to 4th from 5th).
I asked my dealer yesterday for a possible explanation and they told me that while there are no outstanding campaigns for my car, they have contacted MINI for further info and will call me back next week. They agree that only "partial" rev matching seems to indicate some kind of defect.
I've lived without rev matching forever, but if it's available I want it!

I found a good way to test this today while driving. Go drive your car making sure you're going fast enough in a higher gear and push the clutch in and shift to 2nd but don't let out the clutch. Your car should then automatically give a small blip to the throttle.
Mine does the blip on the 4>3 shift as you've described, but not on the 3>2 shift. That's why I think mine needs repair - I just can't get it to rev match 3>2 (in Sport mode, at approx. 3500-4000 rpm).
You need the software update to enable 3->2 rev match. It's a known issue.
Your car should have I-Step software version F056-15-03-503 (latest F56 software), however, as stated above it should work in F056-15-03-500 or newer as well.
You'll have to make the SA preform/have the the the update as it's not required update. It will not show up on there screen when they read the key as a needed item.

+1 for the dealership flash, couple people confirmed this with the update.
