apple watch question??

Hi
Do any of you have any info on the apple watch as it will should be able to link up to our F56 like the guy was demonstrating in the WWDC meeting as he had his VW hooked to it as he could unlock his car from his watch and control his AC and etc.

He was using an app VW created for the watch.

Haven't heard of MINI doing anything yet. But given their track record of releasing the iPhone adapters for the armrests approximately 1-2 years after the release of each iPhone, I wouldn't hold my breath.

my car has some large ***** and buttons that seem like they would be much easier than using your iwatch while driving.

I think (hope) OP's talking about monitoring the status while away from the vehicle, not driving it.

From the VW press release, the functions cover remote lock/unlock, window/sunroof status (open/closed), geo-locate vehicle, honk horn / flash lights, and set boundaries for drivers (i.e., driving out of a preset zone). (Climate control features extend to the eGolf only.)

Most of those functions already exist in the BMW app, but I know only a portion of them worked in my X1. It's just a matter of extending the features to the Apple Watch. Maybe MINI will follow suit, but I doubt it - the BMW app requires a network connection (satellite or whatever).

Think its will be the same as the BMW app for the Apple watch with less features as it was built for the i8 and i3 platform.

One car hope there will be some cool features just for MINI.

MINI is in the works , just usually comes after the BMW stuff on new thing.

Silly questions perhaps, but:
A. How does the watch/phone interface with the BMW? (internet connection, satellite, bluetooth, etc.)
B. Is that interface available in the MINI?

If the answer to B is 'no' then I think you'll know the answer to your question

"you can start your AC fans on a Bmw with you apple watch just FYI so what not with Mini?"
That looks like a question, rhetorical or otherwise. I responded to that.

You stated a fact but HOW exactly does the BMW app talk to your BMW?? Answer that. Then determine if the MINI has the same communications channel.

Sheesh.
