Burbles and Pops - I don't hear 'em

What does it take to generate burbles and pops? I have an MCS with MT, DDC, and Sport Pkg. but haven't heard those sounds at all. My driving style is pretty average - sometimes I downshift while coasting to a stop - and using the engine braking. Still no pops or burbles. Is this an auto trans only thing?

You need to have the car in sport mode for the pops and burbles to occur. If you just drive around in mid mode they won't happen. While I have an auto with paddle shifters, I know this occurs with the MT. When my Cooper S is warmed up, and I put it in sport mode and downshift, I usually get solid pops and eargasm inducing burbles. :p

I believe F56 owners have said in the past that the '14-'15 MCS doesn't produce the exhaust pops and burbles like previous gen MCSs. Mine does it a bit, but not to the extent that I'd call "solid and eargasmic". And I'm in Sport mode (MT) all the time.

The cabin is a lot quieter than the 2nd gen MINIs too. I have a harder time hearing them than I did on my CM, but if I roll the windows down or if I were theoretically standing outside my car while someone else was driving (never gonna happen ), I can hear them.

Well, now I plan to listen carefully with the window down. I really do want pops and burbles, preferably augmented by those blue and yellow flames from the exhaust that you see in some YouTube clips. Louder sounds and flames should be available options IMO.

JCW tuning kit for more and louder pops. Even with the windows up and music going.

I have to listen hard to detect burbles/pops in my 2015 mcs. I wish the stock exhaust was just a little louder. JCW tuning kit is way too expensive.

Others have mentioned a muffler delete. That's a lot less expensive.

I have a '15 MCS, and in Sport mode, I have absolutely zero issues hearing the pops and burbles. There's a certain part of my commute home where I'm going downhill, in 3rd gear, at about 40mph, and the exhaust is popping and burbling like there's no tomorrow.

There are certain conditions you have to meet to hear it, and if you don't, you won't.

"15 F56S Auto. Sport Mode on, engine warmed up, downshift at 3000 rpm or above. Pops and burbles every time.
