ARMA intake review

there is another thread discuss about the intake:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...e-options.html

someone mentioned about the ARMA intake for F56, i was so into this design, so I wrote a mail to ARMA and ask about the detail....seems like it has 2 type of intake, one with valve and one without valve. Seriously, ARMA intake is not cheap if compare with any others. However, i think it's the only one that has CF air box design, so i decide to give a try.
I bought non-variable (the one without valve) intake, which cost me $940 + $100 shipping = $1040

it arrived yesterday, and i probably will install in this weekend, here are some open box photos that i want to share. enjoy

as mentioned, it's a air box design, so it has one top cover and one bottom

this is how it assembled

I have to give credit to the CF quality, it looks so pretty. even my wife loves it (she though I spend too much on this before she see it, and yeah, she still thinks it's expensive)

I will keep everyone update when i done installation.

it's pretty for sure but I don't think it will give you any extra power. Are you planning on doing a before and after dyno to see?

I really want this intake, but the price is just stupid!!! :(

In the end, I went for the GruppeM carbon intake as it was a reasonable cost.

It made no HP gain, I got the same HP as I did with the stock airbox. I did a before and after dyno.

TBH, on the F56 the only real 'reason' for fitting a CAI is for looks and sound, if my dyno results were anything to go by.

Well, i don't have dyno resource here, so i will probably not able to run a before and after dyno.

arma claims a 13hp gain, i guess i add these 13hp into my "though" power lol
here is the video link of dyno, gotta say this is a very nice dyno video (as far as i see)

finally got time to complete the installation. here are my overall review
Pros:
1. good fitment
2. very easy to install, no drilling require
3. quality of CF is very well, it's real cf on both side. Not just cf lay on frp material
4. sounds are sooo good, I can even hear the sound when driving
5. turbo boost seems more smooth

Cons:
1. hardly feel 13hp gain
2. a little pricy

Conclusion: it's a great product, i can see a value add after installing this parts, and makes me more want to pop the hood. strongly recommend~

What does this use for a filter element? I see beautiful CF box but no filter - surely there's something - Yes?

Yes, a filter element is included. Here are two photos I grabbed from their website.

Does changing the air intake not boost power at all? Also, does changing this affect your warranty or anything? There are so many things I want to do to boost performance and stuff on my MINI, but I purchased the extended warranties and obviously don't want to void them. It looks like I will have to purchase the JCW tuning kit. :/

I like quality of arma intake their is made by vacuum
it is stronger and lighter.

Nothing yet for the F56? They really should work on the F56 Intake because I think it would be pretty popular with the price being about half of the Arma intake (which I love by the way).

I was shocked to see the $100. shipping charge for the Arma. I mean, it can't be very heavy.

Hmmm, now I'm wondering if I'd see a big enough difference with my Burger Stage 1 tuner to maybe help justify spending the money. Time to send Terry an email.
