F55/F56 Burger or NM?
Burger or NM?
This may be on here somewhere already, but I don't want to search from my phone as it takes too long. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the two. I want to get one but not sure which.
The JB+ for the R56 has been labelled beta for years. I wouldn't worry about that.
Burger makes good stuff. But so does NM.

I don't think anyone has dyno'd both yet in similar conditions/same car. I have the BMS as the NM was not out at the time. Not sure which is better but I do like that the NM looks more "finished" and has a cleaner install. I assume the end result is pretty similar in gains.
I really wouldn't worry about burger being in beta still.
It has been MONTHS since their release, yet still in beta.
Now If they do make it official, I have no doubt it will make more horses.
But if I'm correct burger does give more horses than NM currently....

NM is claiming a +23 increase in HP and torque with 91 octane fuel. Has Burger posted any dyno figures?
I do like the cleaner look of the NM, but I have a JB+ on my CM now and love it...
...but the NM is cheaper on Outmotoring.com right now...I probably shouldn't be buying things for a car that hasn't come yet, huh?

This would require a long answer, but in short, if you have an engine failure, and you have a piggyback tuner on it (or have shadow codes indicating a piggyback), the dealer will (rightly) void the warranty. It's more complicated than that, and consumers have protections as well, but If you are hot-rodding your MINI and something goes horribly wrong, MINI shouldn't have to pay for it.
That having been said, the Burger device is very carefully engineered and doesn't push motors beyond their capacity.

There are a few customer dynos on n54tech. This is one I happen to have handy.

We've not done extensive testing yet but initial results look like it's a non-issue. Just like the N20 vs. N26 thing we went through with the BMWs awhile back.
NM plug into TMAP sensor and BMS plug MAP and TMAP. I believe the MAP signal serves only to logs infos? each sensor has two plugs
