Fuel Economy with BMS tune?

So I have given up on asking to see if anyone has a dyno table for a MCS with the BMS "tune" installed, but It has been out long enough that I think the people with the product may have noticed fuel economy changes.

Anyone care to weigh in? Better/Worse/Same?

I've noticed no change in fuel economy on my B38 with JB installed...obviously you are enticed to be flooring it more and fuel economy will suffer...but driving around like normal there is no change.

There is no change during normal operation as boost is referenced on gas pedal input.

PS. A few B48 dyno results have been posted here: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showth...t=25245&page=4

No firsthand experience with this piggyback but I can tell you that in my experiences with a tuneable ECU, you may actually see an INCREASE in fuel economy, for the reason that the factory fuel maps are often quite rich in order to protect the motor.

I saw on that thread that a member writes +4psi, +5psi, +6psi, etc... Is the user capable of changing parameters in the Stage 1?

alright Terry. I am sold. 278 with stock plus your product? Cannot wait until I get through my engine work-in period (I won't install anything until I get 1500 miles under the tires) and I can strap on some extra horses! Throw in a straight pipe exhaust and I am psyched! Almost 300 HP with only two aftermarket products, probably only totaling $1500... insane territory for a MINI!

Yes boost can be adjusted but unless you're on a dyno with full logging & higher octane available I would not suggest changing anything.

Terry- how about 94 octane and 4 psi? Is it simple to boost it that much? :-)
