Noted that there is a LED replacement foglight available. Anyone know how to access and change these out?

 

Can you provide a link? Are these the halo style ones found on the new countryman?

It was the fog lights. They have had the rally lights on the website for a bit.

Talked with the dealer and they said 4 hours labor to retrofit. Looking at the bottom of the car, it seems to me all that would be required is to remove the arid (flat cover under the engine) and the front plastic leading edges on the corners of the front bumper cover.

When I change my oil and have the car on a lift, I may just explore a bit and see what I see. If that is all it is, I will let you all know. This also doesn't take into account that the dealer may need to reprogram the BCM to accept them.

Then again, if you already have the foglights on the car, it may just be a matter of swapping the unit itself.

 

Note that the retrofit LED fog lights are probably not halo. They are probably the same as the factory LED fog lights.

Someone actually answered my question in another thread. You actually have to pull off the front bumper cover and he gave a detail step by step how to do so.

 

Are you referencing these "LED Daytime running lights" which replace the factory fog lights? Only item I see on the MINI USA site regarding fog lights.

I spoke to my dealer and those fog lights above are not available for the F56. It's one of many mini website errors. The OP is mistaken.

If anyone hears any different please report. Go to any mini dealer and compare the fog lights and you'll see that the new countryman led lights are much smaller than those of the F56.

 

Yes, those were the ones I saw. OPs can always be mistaken if the Manufacturer list the item as fitting the car....lol.

Well, someone didn't just make this up.
ECS, on MINIUSA and on your website, it says these are only compatible for MINIs with existing Fog Light (SA 520) - but I've seen other, European websites that say they will work without SA520 just without fog-light capability (parking and DRL will still work). Is there any way for you to confirm this?

 

Have not seen them on an F56, they are made for R56-R61 Gen 2 , someone overseas must have modded them to work on that platform.

Also some people have modded them for work on Gen 2 R56- R61 without foglights. They are designed and have instructions on the item to work with Gen2 R56-R61 with factory fog lights.

No problem, looks like Pre F56 fitment ;" pre 03/2014" which is correct and Some post 2014 + F56 which looks to be new. Not much part info there. Also the video above are not the same kit I have linked 63122338554 .


See that but they dont show the part number, might be something new coming out the US gets second , UK and Europe gets them first by a couple month.

I bet they have the same kit just different brackets or something. I will look into this more. Lots of mis information on the UK site before on past future US products.

Do you think it's possible to set these up in such a way that they're just always in LED DRL halo mode?

I don't have the foglight option in my car, so all I care about is getting rid of the ugly halogen "parking" lights with something more attractive, like the LED halo.

 

Codding through NCS expert or something like that. They are in led halo mode as long as you don't turn on the parking or headlights.
