No Sound

So today I get in my car and there is no sound from the speakers, none whatsoever, including the radio, navigation, phone and even the no seatbelt sound. I had this happen once before after I had just gotten the car back from an accident. At the time i thought is was from the work and/or accident. They got a fault code (Fault AMP B7F490). The work order says the AMP needed reprogramming. Has anyone had this happen and do you think the amp needs to be replaced instead of reprogrammed?

Geez 129 views and no thoughts? I guess I'm the only one so far with this issue. I did do a search and saw that this was a common problem with the Gen 1 vehicles.

Why not just take it to the dealer? It's a major issue. It's under warranty, so let the pros property diagnose the issue and correct it.

The car has been and will be taken to the dealer. The post was to see if anyone else has experienced this, to let everyone know what I'm experiencing and to ask those with electrical knowledge if correcting a code is enough or should the amp be replaced. This will be my second trip in to the dealer who is over an hour away.

Never heard of that being posted in a thread before. The other 2 things I never heard before are it slipping out of gear, and not being able to shut off the engine.

Just an update; the Amp completely failed this time and was replaced. So far so good. I will keep all informed if situation recurs. BTW, because of this issue and someone running into me in June I unfortunately have had the car serviced by Prestige Mini and their body shop at Prestige BMW numerous times and cant say enough good things about the care they've taken. I hope I don't have to visit them anytime soon though; it's been a rough 3 months!

Same issue

I have the exact same symptoms and issues on a one series F20 the amp is dead and Carly gives code B7F490 Control Unit Reset Internal Control Unit Software Error. The dealership refuse to work on it as it's been in an accident !?!

Anyone know how to fix this? -_-

Thanks

That's not cool! Is it still in warranty? I'd get on the phone with Mini. Although taking it to another dealer would probably be the path of least resistance.
