Water leak to passenger floorboard

Hello all--

I'm new to the forum, but look forward to participating.

Have had my F56 for about three weeks and love it. A couple of times, I've noticed water leaking to passenger floorboard from under the console, just at the split between the front and back pieces. Minor, but has dampened the carpet a couple of times. Should note that climate control is on "auto," and it's still hot in the south!

Has anyone else seen this problem? My dealer says that it may take them a couple of days to find the issue. Seems to me, there should be a simple fix.

I'd be willing to bet it's condensation from the AC running. There might be some plumbing under the dash that might have a bit of a leak or something, but it should be something that the dealership can identify and fix pretty easily.

+1 on the condensation from ac drain. Either the tube is loose on the ac /heater box in the car or the tube is obstructed and it's backing up. Seeing that the car is new id say it's loose as it hasent been long enough to collect debris in the drain.

Either way it's an easy fix just sucks that it happened so soon.

My money is on loose drain tube. Easy fix at the dealership. Good luck.

It's the A/C condinser drain. Had the exact same issue on my car. Took the dealer 3 days to fix. They had to drop the exhaust, remove the heat shield and order several parts to get it fixed. I spoke with the service manger during the process as I thought it should be a simple fix -- little more complex apparently. He said a TSB was coming out soon for this issue.

I thought the same, hence the reason I got with the service manager once I was told I was leaving in a loaner. He showed me on a series of online diagrams/service manuals showing how to get to the actual drain out of the car... it was crazy how many parts had to be removed just to get to it. Hopefully once a TSB is released (if it really happens as I was told) the parts will be easier to come across and the tech's will know exactly how to fix it in a single day. I'm sure MINI does not like paying dealers hours worth of labor for diagnostics regarding this issue.
