I saw them in Chicago's Lego store but resisted (and I even have a BRG Mini).

I was at the mall (leaving actually) and the Lego store was having an event for the kids ( I'd forgotten our mall had a Lego store). I then remembered the Lego Mini. I walked in asked a member of the staff if they had the Lego Mini. He said yes, I said I'll take it, uh then he told me the price. I hesitated but only for a second. Lol. It was worth it. So I ordered my first Mini in May of this year and put together my first Lego set. I'm obsessed. 😬

I got the mini Mini Cooper as a gift when I purchased the full size Mini Cooper Lego set. So I guess both for $100 was a good deal.

Worth EVERY penny! I bought 2 - one to build and one to save unopened. Did the same thing with the VW Microbus LEGO set as well from a few years ago. I love the little Mini (the VW came with a free little Microbus too). Haven't had a chance to build the big one yet, will save that for a rainy (if it ever rains) day.

Become a LEGO VIP member (free) and get advanced notice on special sets and save $$ on purchases on line or at the LEGO store. I have been an avid LEGO collector since a kid and live only 15 minutes from the huge store at Disneyland, which makes it challenging to keep the "impulse buys" down, LOL.

As I said on another site, they could also package this kit as a Range Rover, Hummer and a Jeep and sell a lot more of them.

Agreed, love the VW Minibus as well. Have both of them and love both. The detail is amazing. I definitely want to go and get black matching parts to make the MINI resemble my "Toaster" parked in the garage.

You should totally do that - would be cool to see!

When I was a kid, and when LEGO sold sets of building bricks/wheels/glass blocks/etc, I would build vehicles that would resemble actual models and I would try and get them as close as I could with the various (then pretty crude) pieces. They would turn out pretty close (bustle-back Cadillac Sevilles and the like), but then that was the late 70's and early 80's when car design was in a "squared off" stage, LOL.

Ahhhh, memories.
