Potential window tint wear issue?

I had my windows tinted about a month ago and I've been concerned about wear on the driver/passenger windows due to how the windows drop and rise automatically when you open and close the doors. Well, I just checked the rear corner of each of the windows and there is already a large wear mark on each. Not noticeable from the outside (yet) nor from the inside since the marks are at the rubber molding area.

Anyone else with tinted windows concerned about how those corners may look in a year?

I haven't tinted mine yet, but that drop during door open is standard on almost all higher end coupes. I had it on my 2001 TT and my 2003 BMW. I would be surprised if the person doing the tint and or the film manufacturer haven't already taken this into consideration. Just a thought.

My R56 windows are tinted and there's no wear at the upper edges. You may have gotten a shoddy tint job.

Likewise, no wear yet to be seen on mine, my tint is about 2.5 months old.

No wear in 4 1/2 years on my R56 tint on the front driver/passenger windows. Would have been longer but CA and their fix it ticket caught up to me

6 years on my R53 and 2 years on my R58, no issues between the two. I'd go back to the place you had it done or find a better shop.

Or he's got a cheapo tint film that gets scratched easily.

It's not cheap film. It's 3M Crystalline. And the install of the film is fine. I'm wondering if the additional thickness of the Crystalline film is why I'm seeing marks on the film. They aren't scratches, but rub marks. I'll try to take a photo and post it for you to better see what I'm talking about.
