F55/F56 Have a HUGE Favor to ask.
Have a HUGE Favor to ask.
I was told by my Mini Dealership that, MAJORITY of the Minis get their hood READJUSTED from the Factory.
Because on the Driver side of my hood hinge, where the hood bolts to the hinges, shows obvious signs of readjustment, also the bolts along the fender has peeling/cracking paint.
I'd like to ask you the fellow F56 Owners, to take a picture of your hood hinge and fender on the driver side.
Mini Dealership claims that the engine stand that damaged my hood and fender, shifted my hood causing the hood to be touching my fender when im closing it.
I have no where else to ask for assistance except the forum community!!!!!

Nope... nothing like that... just like my photos show.
Did the bolts on both side have clear coat?
Like it had a gloss finish just like the car paint or was it dull?

Fenderpicks,
The dealer isn't lying to you. When the car is put together on the line the tech do have to attach the hood to the car and make minor adjustments for proper alignment. Then I assume the car is painted to get our bolts to look like they do vs paint first then attach the hood.
It is perfectly plausible that when the hood shut on the stand or if the stand was heavy enough and hit the hood with enough force, that they will have to adjust the hood to make a proper repair.
What I would be concerned with is that they make it right and pay for the damages to include rental while it is being fixed.
Then, of course, if I had the option, I would never return to that shop for any work.
