F55/F56 AC always on when turn on the engine?
AC always on when turn on the engine?
I notice when i start the engine, the AC always turns on no matter if I turn it off or leave it on before shutting down the engine. does anyone experience the same thing?
This makes me wish that I didn't have Automatic Climate Control.
I don't leave it on auto and sure enough, every time I start up, it's on. So if you have a real solution, I'd like to hear it. It's always been off before shutting the car down.

I shut off everything right after startup and leave it that way. It's not that the A/C comes on, but the fan is always on at the lowest level at startup.
I have the auto climate control and if shut the AC off, when I turn the car back on the AC is still shut off. This is in my parking garage so maybe the car factors in temperature when deciding to turn the air on or off on startup?
Thanks
MAYBE and I say that not having F series MINI, but I had the whole weird stuff would come on when I started and it didn't feel right.
So I asked my MA what gives and he said to put the key into the slot and start the car, make all the setting I wish to have active(?) and all extra stuff like lights, radio, connected, air, heat etc set where I wanted them.
Then shut off the car and remove the key.
Next time I placed that same key in the slot, all my setting were there and the whole air on was gone, as I don't run it that much anyway.
NOW, my wife has the key in slot on her R56 S
I have the comfort access on my R55 fJCW Clubman
She would carry the second Fob when in my car and who ever got in first it seemed that fob took over the primary settings, we found this out with trail and error!
So in short we set up all her fobs the same way and leave the spare in the house.
We set up my two fobs exactly the same and also leave the spate in the house now.
Haven't had an issue since, hope this might lead you F56 folks into the correct fix.
Good Luck

There's an on/off option for that and timer settings also. Mine is set to off.
The F30 3 Series I have does this...fan will be on the lowest setting whenever I start the car. The A/C stays off though, unless it was on when I turned off the car last.
Maybe its a new BMW thing.

Seems to me my Auto-Climate 2005 MC behaved that way. I just let it do what it did. It could be dehumidifying. It would decide whether to heat or cool (or a blend of the two). Below a certain temp, no cooling took place, in actuality. Is it just the light being on that concerns you? My guess is that it's behaving normally, although I always left mine on "auto" and yet you say you've turned your "auto" setting to off? Hmmm...
On comfort climate you have to set both timers, the first is when to turn it on, the second turns it off.
I think.
Once those are set I believe you can enable it. Did it once. Need to try again.
I did test turning AC off of auto, then rotating the dual all the way to off, then turning the car off and back on and it did not start back up. The fan stayed off. But I don't see a way to toggle the AC separately -- the "I don't want the AC on, just blow the fan" type of setting that used to be called "Vent".

Ok so I checked in both of these -- you can turn the fan off when you shut down and it'll stay off, but I believe the AC switch will come back on.
As for timers, I wasn't able to confirm one is in and the other off, but if you set times for those you can then enable comfort ventilation even without enabling the timers. Odd, but it works. So with the car off you can turn on the fan.
