Viper stripes on F56 MCS

This is my third Mini and the first one to get stripes! I didn't want to go too full on so I settled for matte black and dark red. Super pleased with them and I think the outside rocks as much as the inside now!

Awesome looking stripes! I ordered the JCW side stripes in black and plan to get the racing stripes when I get my Mini. Very nice job. Looks great

Looks great. DIY, or did you have someone else do them? I've been thinking of something similar for my inbound VO.

Interesting. Did you simply order two sets and put one set on the doors?

That looks fantastic. Keeps the darkness but adds interest without flash.

That looks awesome...I'm also curious as to how you accomplished the striping. DIY or a dealer? I have basically the same car as your and I really love you your stripes look!

I especially like the hood stripes. The matte black with the red was SUCH a great and creative idea. Well done! Love it!

Yeay, glad you all like and thanks for the kind words.

To answer any questions I got them custom made by a vinyl sign/vehicle wrap company over here in the UK. I worked out the dimensions and picked the colours then let the vinyl guys do the fitting, it looked pretty tricky and it took them about 4hrs to do. I wanted the stripes to go under the JCW roof spoiler but that meant removing it which I decided against!

I think the cost was about the same as if you had dealer fit vipers and side stripes but at least mine are bespoke and one of a kind, happy days.

Hi there,
red stripe 14mm
Matte black 170mm
GAP of 13mm between red & black
GAP 34mm middle between blacks

Hope this helps, this fits between the bonnet washers

Cheers John

John, Did you install these yourself. Did you cut them or purchase ready cut?

Thanks.

Hi Gregory, I got a local vinyl sign/car wrap company to do them. I worked out the dimensions and picked the colours and then let the professionals do the cutting & fitting, it took one guy just over 4hrs to complete :-)

Thanks for the info John. I'm thinking about getting my hood wrapped with xpel film. Wondering if I should have the stripes down before our after...it's $450 but way cheaper than a repaint!

Think I would put the stripes on top of the film

Yep. They will likely only last a couple of years.

I don't think the stripes over the clear bra would be too hot unless you plan on removing them soon. You'll have a gap where the strips touch the clear bra...even if the installer did a perfect install with the stripes you're going to have a noticeable transition from paint to film.

It seems that most people on here haven't had much trouble with their stripes fading on the older models. I guess it could certainly happen, but clear bras do not last forever either. So perhaps when it would be time to replace the stripes it would be also time to replace the film?

It's just my .02, but it just seems to me that the stripes on film would not have a lot of longevity and would look odd.
