F55/F56 HUD + Polarized Sunglasses = blank display
HUD + Polarized Sunglasses = blank display
When I deployed the HUD and had a blank display, I was like what the heck?? I took my POLARIZED glasses off and I could see the displayed data.
I have problems like this with some older LCD screens at gas pumps while wearing polarized sunglasses.
If you wear polarized lens, just realize that it will filter out the HUD display.

HA! Thats pretty funny. I'm not a fan of the HUD option, big lump on the dash when its not there really messes up the nice dash line IMO. All this is conjecture since I haven't even been in one with the option yet. Plus, I'm not exactly tall (5'6") and I don't need anything in my lower line of sight.
Apparently, this is an issue across the board. I had no idea.

They don't work together.
I am 5'6'' and have the HUD in my F56 and can see it very easily. You are able to adjust the height and position of the information reflecting on the glass so you can adjust it to suit how you sit in the car. I personally love the option and think it is a great addition. I believe these settings are also unique to the profiles associated to the fobs; so if you have multiple drivers the screen would always adjust accordingly for each person.

Best thing you can do
I also forgot to mention you can also adjust the height of the seat itself up and down a bit so this can help dial it in too.

It "slightly" shifts the image to the left or right. This is so you can tweak if you sit a bit off center in the seat.
The rotation actually rotates the info on the screen clockwise or counter clockwise. It is very slight.
I disagree. Polarized sunglasses are awesome at selectively cutting glare without having to make everything darker. It's unfortunate that they are incompatible with many electronic displays.

Puhleeze - so 70s is more like it. But I have an expensive pair of prescription driving glasses that are both photo-chromic and polarised that make driving my Roadster with the hood down a real pleasure.
If you can't see the display with polarized sunglasses on, check this out:
turn your head +/- 90 degrees (i.e. horizontal) and the display will be plainly visible!
I don't recommend driving that way, however.
The same thing happens with camera and cell phone lcd displays.

Now that I'm a bit relieved that this is normal, I'd like to know why this option even exists, especially since the effect is so slight?
Thanks!
