Give us a high speed report! Handling, feel, steering feel, feeling of being in control, aerodynamics? Of course we all know that driving at excessive speeds are dangerous and discouraged.

No, but do our US cars have a governor that prevents us from reaching the claimed 130 & 146 mph top speeds?

I believe the governor kicks in at those speeds.

If so, that means they they didn't put any governors on our MINIs. Engine power and aerodynamics are what decides how fast our cars can go.

wife keeps hollering....
Let me down..

I was at 103 on the track...handles great, speed feels much lower than what is indicated, a sign of stability.

Car felt solid at 95. Had to test the speed tone warning. The road was a worn highway so I could feel the sway of the worn in tire tracks but it was like the mini was humming with zero issues.

I got tired of a car right on my bumper before I could calmly pass a Semi the other day and did Mat it.

Don't think it went to a 100, but it sure was way up there fast to either a 100 or right below it.

It just took off and that was it !!!

It was not even in the Sport position.

It was in the middle Default position at the time.

Terry

BTW,

I wonder if in the "Future" if Mini will offer a
(JCW-Performance) up-grade to us that have
the MCS ???

You could get JCW upgrades on the R56 but it's NOT cheap at all.

Actually I came Very-Very close to getting that and the Larger JCW front brakes.

Then, stopped and paused and started reading about everything I could find on the new 2014 MCS.

As you know I ordered the new 2014 MCS.

What I am hoping is Mini will maybe later on offer a Power Up-Grade to the MCS owners.

If so I am in !!!

I will not be the least bit surprised that as time goes by we see a JCW Up-Grade for the 2014 MCS.

Actually it just really makes sense as we all know the MCS in Stock form is certainly not stressed or certainly not even close to being overstressed.

If Mini offers it I will get it so I can retain the factory warranty.

Is it wrong if this was done during the test drive?
(Just asking, of course.) :D

In the past it's been close to 3 grand for less than a 10 hp increase.

I'm keeping the faith though for the 2014 MCS as it has lots of room for increased power.

We shall see as time goes by but I'm thinking that Mini might just offer some sort of JCW Package for us.

I was on a local freeway the other day and I felt to let it stretch it's legs a bit. NOT something I normally do. Never changed out of 6th gear and zipped from 70 to 115 surprisingly quick. Not sure if I was in Mid or Sport mode.

Oh, and I was alone in the car. My wife would have screamed at me! LOL.

Over 100 in CA gets your license suspended, and 2 points on your record.
$1.000 fine plus fees.
You must appear.
Driver beware.

Bob,

If there was a place where I did not have to be concerned over going straight to, (Jail) I would put mine in Sport and give it a try.

I just don't want to take a change on a Wide-Open-Run with also owning the 800 H/P Bullitt Mustang.

I prefer to get a ticket in it.
