With a few threads already existing for peoples orders, i thought it'd be a good idea to have a centralized thread that answers a few things for those that already pre-ordered their new Mini's. I think this'll help everyone get a feel for when they should expect their car. if a mod thinks this has already been covered, please feel free to kill this thread.

if this thread does stay, please feel free to add any other notes you think will help us all. i'll start below.

That's a slow boat. But yours has to go through the Panama Canal too. Less than a month!

 

As an FYI, my salesperson told me that they have more access than what we see online to the production status. For instance, she told me she will be able to see when it enters the paint shop and giving me a tracking number on the ship it goes on.

 

Some MAs were saying something about New Jersey hasn't officially 'released' the F56s for sale yet. Is this true? If yes, why? Is it because of the delayed production or perhaps there are too many Gen 2s still on the lot?

 

Am starting to get the same feeling. My F56 has yet to catch a boat and I keep hearing mid April for release.

 

John, how long has your MINI been waiting to catch a ship?

Thanks for the info! What was your wait time from "On Order" to "Scheduled for Production"?

 

well let me add that i didn't know about the owners lounge until i heard about it here.
if we are to follow the timestamp from my dealer, this is what i have:

2/22: Submitted order to dealer (it was a saturday so shall we assume 2/24 actual)
3/3: dealer emailed me with "your car has been birthed"
3/5: receive production number from dealer (i had to request it). signed in and it was already "scheduled for production"
3/12: today, awaiting transport

so the issue is, i never saw an "on order" in the owners lounge. if we assume that the moment i got the "birthed" email it went into production, then we can say:
2/22: On Order
3/3: Scheduled for production
3/12: awaiting transport.

hopefully this helps answer your questions.

 

I got the "birthed" email as well, but in my case it then went to On Order, then to Scheduled For Production, and now is at Awaiting Transport. Must vary then from order to order, as far as how fast the order moves to the Scheduled For Production stage.

 

Went into the Awaiting transportation status on the 5th, just heard through my MA that it's on a boat and already halfway across the pond!

Same thing happened w/ my R56 so I'm not overly surprised.

 

I called the ASK MINI number and spoke with the customer service and got the boat name and detail dates. Nowadays I just take any sales person's word with a grain of salt. If your MA's correct then your car is bunking up with mine on the same boat

LOOKS LIKE the HK system and Fully Loaded package are back in stock!!

 

Congrats! But.....I ordered my MINI on 2/12 and had no delays from the normal On Order to Scheduled For Production to Awaiting Transport, and I have both the HK system and Fully Loaded package. Could be that something else delayed some orders? Regardless, glad that yours is now Scheduled For Production. Hopefully nobody else will experience any delays from here on.

Just noticed that you went with British Racing Green as well.

 

My order status changed between yesterday and this morning to 'En Route'. Oh heart be still! LOL.
