If you have your production number you can call 1-866-ASK MINI (1-866-275-6464) and they will give you your MINI's latest, exact status. Once your MINI is en-route across the pond, you can ask them for the ship name and then track the ship like Steve is doing above. Basically you can call this number every day for the current status.

Thats the number Ive been calling from USA and they say company policy prohibits that. Perhaps this is a recent change in policy. I'm sitting in schedule for production. I expect to receive my baby by mid June. Order made 3/11....got the production number 3/15. The status I wanted was production started then things will be moving

that doesn't make any sense, I call 2-3 times a week give them my PO number and get answers...your production order number is a seven digit number

from what I understand they don't use status codes any more, but will give you a verbal status of your vehicle. such as in "production with an estimated date of completion", "in the body shop", "in paint", "at the port waiting on a vessel assignment"

hope that helps

Just called that number (I do at least once a day) and my MCS is "in transit" again. Not sure what that means because it told me that several days ago, then "to the port of export," then "in transit" the last two times. Will ask the MA.

If you ask them to tell you the latest stays code they are not allowed to tell. I was told they are still used but want give it out. All they ever tell me is order scheduled for production. So we will see. I call weekly so if they eventually tell me Production Started thats fine. Then I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
037 - Order is at BMW NA
087 - Production Week Assigned
097 - Order sent to factor
111 - Order Accepted at factory
112 - Order scheduled for Production
150 - Production Started
151 - Body Shop Started
152 - Paint Shop Started
153 - Assembly Started
155 - Production Completed
160 - Released to Distribution
182 - Released to Carrier
193 - Arrived at Port of Exit
194 - Selected for Shipment
195 - Shipped from Port of Exit
196 - Shipment Arrival

2 things

1) when you call are you just listening to the automated guy? after he gives you a status ask for a representative and speak to a human.

2) when I asked my MA for a status he sent me a print out via email..in that email it showed a status code that matches the list your showing, however you wont' get those numbers from the 1866 number no matter who you talk to. however they will give you the verbal equivalent (paint, body shop, etc)

Oddly, I have gotten "in transit" several times and something like released to "port of export" in-between. The wordings don't match. When I spoke to a person, she suggested I check w/ my MA for more timely information.

I have to say and I don’t know how easy it would be but I’d have loved a tracker on my Build only better than your USA version in the UK.

Just think if you’re in the loop it’s hard to get disappointed when you find out its late or has hit a delay. Plus you can make it fun and start a bond with your car before it arrives.

Simple texts from BMW saying ordered, Scheduled etc moving to “Hi, I’m your brand new Cooper I’m currently in the body shop I’ll let you know when I’m in the Paint shop and assembly”

Mini – “Hi that’s me all built and awaiting to be released by distribution”
Mini - “Hi that me released to the Carrier I’m on my way”

I read about the production process and the plants they use. Thing is every vehicle gets a tracking "thinkgy" attached to it so that they know where it is in the process. I'm sure this is for a quality control thing but that data could easily be uploaded at the end of each day to a website so that every order could be tracked through the process. This is the only vehicle I've ever ordered like this, with so much involved in getting info to customers that would seem like the easiest and most up to date info they could provide.

easier would be if I could focus on something else and then before I knew it my mini would be here.

I just think going fishing for your car and getting false updates would drive me mad. But if it was dependable and accurate then you would enjoy getting a text or email automatically. Just think MINI we would not have to hound MINI services and the staff could be using their time better.

thus far all of the information I've gotten has been accurate. sometimes like now, I'm just waiting with no real idea for how long.

mini is at the dock waiting to be scheduled on a ship. I've looked up the ships leaving for baltimore md, next one goes out on the 11th, so I guess (hope) that It'll be on that one but I have no clue. just keep calling back to see if it gets updated.

if you have the order sheet from the dealer it says your port in the top right hand corner.

http://www.sailwx.info/ <---here is the tracking site you need to know the vessel name

Never mind, ETA in Baltimore is the evening of the 8th, so it must be going to GA after that.

Sorry about that...

In the St. Pete/Tampa area, I understand Brunswick is the usual port. From the UK to my dealer, about 16 days. My MCS could be on that ship -- or the next one.

To be fair I think its quick the time it takes for you guys in the states to get your cars. I ordered my Cooper in the UK on the 3rd of March the same as the guy above and his car is beating my car that did not even go into production till the 21st.

As long as its fault free I’m just happy.

THIS! Yes, it is true that you won't get any codes. Only the verbal status, which is all I needed/wanted while tracking my MINI. I really din't care about the codes. I only wanted the most up-to-date status.

You may make up time while ours are on the boat. Interesting to see. Believe me I'm surprised with the progress so far.
