newtis.info closed
I am not sure if anyone else had used that website as a reference, but https://www.newtis.info seems to have been shut down by order of BMW.
This is BS...Not only the brand sucks, but now the only good thing going on for us is shut down.

"BMW violates the right to repair by effectively locking out individual consumers from basic repair information through unreasonably high access fees"
There are too many of us doing DIY's based on the NewTis data, and that's hurting their service shop's quota badly. It's the only right thing to do on their accord to stop the bleeding.
Fear not, we will just need to unite and share as much DIY's as we can in this forum and they just simply cannot shut us down and try to collect hefty fees on our own material.

Would you be willing to point out how we can source the offline version, too?

As it turns out, I have ISTA-D and this whole NewTIS suite is all there. Just realized it over the weekend so I'm set. But thanks for the tip though.
I actually bought a whole iCOM/Most/Laptop set from some eBay source, and it comes with all of ISTA-D, ISTA-P, NCS,WINKFP, etc.. I don't even think what I got is legitimate, it's some sort of hacked version with the Chinese made module. It works though, I've tried it out over the weekend and realized with ISTA-D's maintenance interface, it's actually pulling out all of the reference that I'd see in newTIS.
Anybody found a web archive / copy? I found a download of the TIS file, but don't really want to figure out how to install the thing on my mac. Please PM me if you've got the goods!
This really sucks. newTIS was my go to for torque values, and it made it easy to link tasks that needed to be done in sequence for certain repairs.
I found an offline install package, too, but it claims to need Windows XP to install... Can’t get it to load on my Windows 10 machine.
I also have a Windows installer on my MacBook, so I’ll eventually check that out too.
It's not just BMW/MINI, Ford does the same thing with requiring the subscription. BMW/MIN also shutdown realoem access on newer cars by changing how dealers get their parts program, it's no longer a disc that dealer(s) were sharing with realoem against their licensing agreement.

In my search for a solution, I happened to see that Haynes came out with their manual, at some point last year. Got a copy from Amazon for like $23. It's really pretty good. Requires a lot of jumping around: "for removal see section 2.2". "torque to the specified value"- they really can't be bothered to just list the specified value, I gotta flip back a few pages and find it in the chart. But there is a chart, and that's great. Also a little bit of color commentary: "mini insists that the gasket be replaced, even if it's in good condition".
Anyway, seems pretty complete and I'm happy now. I don't foresee spending any more time or money looking for the TIS.
