Pre-LCI Eventuri hood scoop problem

So I installed the eventuri kit and the square holes in hood of the clubman don't line up with the vents(?) on the eventuri. I read someone here mentioned they worked something out with a body shop or mechanic who rigged something to address this.

How have others solved this?

I am surprised that they would not sort fitment for such a pricey product...I know for the PetrolPed video they test fitted the unit to his LCI F54 JCW which was a pre-production intake but it has been a while since these have been on the market. Hopefully you can get it sorted...have you tried emailing them? I have spoken to them with questy in the last and they are quite responsive.

Hello,
I have a Pre-LCI MINI F54 Clubman and the Eventuri install went without a problem.

Maybe you have the wrong kit for your car, the newer version looks quite different!

Or it may be a case of packing error!

It's the correct part. Unfortunately, Eventuri got back to me and noted that the openings on the plastic versions of the intake are much smaller than the carbon fiber versions.

Supposedly they are working on an updated version of the plastic one, but it won't be for a while

How can they claim it is the correct part if it doesn't line up properly? That doesn't make sense. I'd be returning it if that happened to me.

Yeah that isn't acceptable and they need to own up to it and just take back the hood scoop until they sort it on their end... especially for a 'high end' product considering the price. I was going to get the full carbon version but the service tech at my Mini dealership said they have had a few F54 JCW's throw CEL's... possibly due to the MAF sensor housing.

Hello All,

I could not leave this alone and had to check the fitting on my Clubman. My Eventuri intake is also the plastic version, it was installed last September and to my surprise the holes through the hood scoop do not line up with the plastic intake on top of the radiator!
Frghu was right and I apologize to him for my train of thought.

The pictures attached were taken from above with the bonnet closed after removal of the hood scoop so that I could see how much the corresponding holes were off….

I will probably Mc Gyver the system and line up the holes tomorrow.

Eventuri is going to get an extensive complain letter from me!

That's terrible. That shouldn't have ever left the factory and found its way into a customer's hands. I hope Eventuri corrects the problem.

Definitely contact them. They must not have known this was an issue. They are sending a replacement once they fabricate a new one.

Or post a comment to their YouTube channel or FB page if you don't get timely replies via email. The whole thing is pretty shocking.

Hi All,

I received an email from the Eventuri Sales Administrator. She indicated that the technical department is aware of the problem and is fixing the plastic CAI ducting.
The problem has been resolved for the CF version, and unfortunately, it will take 6-8 weeks for the solution to be implemented for the plastic version.

Saludos,

Speedy

Well, I was thinking of ordering one. Guess I’ll hold off.

Dear All,

Eventuri came through and sent me an updated Pre-LCI front duct manifold for my MINI F54 Clubman. The holes line up a little bit better, but in my opinion, there is still room for improvement.
I Mc Gyver'd the original duct manifold and cut the holes up to the white lines in the previous pictures. I just installed the new manifold and will see if it makes any difference.
Saludos,

Agreed...for that price I expect a perfect fit. Shame on them.
