Autobahn: 100 mph

I did 100 miles in an hour today. OK, it as 101.3 miles in 60 minutes. Close enough.

It was awesome. Fantastic roads, great conditions, smart drivers, little to no traffic, great visibility, minimal construction zones / reduced speed areas, etc. Damn near perfection.

If I only had had my summer tires on, and not been limited to 210 km/h / 130 mph!

You're gonna miss it....

I drive to Regensberg every other weekend and love the drive. Nice clear roads (minus the Czech drivers).

And no Czech hookers, either, I suppose....

Boy, talk about driving distractions!

Shhh... that can be done between Augusta, GA and Fayetteville, NC also... at the right time of day... and with the proper equipment... and with sufficient testicular fortitude....

Not like we have had a lot of snow lately. I actually mounted my summers at the end of Feb.

See, I'm a good German. I wait until Easter to change the tires & rims. Otherwise, some Oma is going to give me that look of disapprovement and I'll feel like crap.

Sometimes, it sucks to be German....

Abu,

You'd better watch it, folks are still simmering about your last episode of dire recklessness. And whatever you do, DO NOT tell them your kids were with you, hanging onto the roof!

Cheers!!

100 mph on the Autobahn isn't "recklessness", it's "conservative".

Once rode with a friend in an older 7-series and we covered 168 miles in 51 minutes. Do the math.

Oh, come on! Those are the best seats! Why else did Mini put that wing on the back, if not for kids to hang from at mach 2?

And yeah, I did have some folks absolutely blow past me on the drive, to include on 6 series BMW who didn't even look like he was trying......

Oh, I've been getting absolutely dogpiled over on this thread.

Not sure why, either, since in this thread, I was driving much faster!

I managed this for 20 minutes straight, Talk about makin time!!! They think Im crazy, yet they fail to understand the concentration is much higher. Its safer than it looks and I have extensive training, Used to race,, besides anyone who wants to critique fast " SAFE" drivers need to stay off the phone and stop turning around to yell at their kids while driving. They need to stay out of the far left lane as well.

What you can't see in these posts is the further the speedo goes right, the faster the little one below it goes LEFT!!!

Oh, I know. At 140 mph and up, even a Mini goes through fuel like an M1!
