Autobahn: 100 mph
#27
I agree. I grew up in Germany and learned to drive on the Autobahn. 100 Mph was cruising speed. I'd keep an eye in the mirrors for fast traffic and maybe up the speed and tuck in behind if something interesting came along.

I don't know where you guys drove, but I spent several years driving the Autobahn and most people drove nowhere near 100 MPH. Most of the time I drove a VW Vanagon, which could only do 90 downhill with the wind at it's back and I passed 90% of the vehicles on the autobahn. Yeah, every once in a while some BMW whizzed by at 100+, but that was rare.

fastest I've seen on mine was 146...on a loooong downhill stretch of the Autobahn w/the new pulleys. The car seemed like it wanted to do more but prolly just banging against the aerodynamic wall.
Wonder how Tuls got faster? Obviously lots more hp plus maybe different gearing?
I hit sustained 125-130 all the time between here and the 'Ring on the weekends.

Not sure where you were driving but in unrestricted zones the Germans open them up.
