All is well w/the world again...
Pulled the pulley, cleaned it and the crank nose of any assembly lube and reinstalled it w/a new belt last night. I got the "official" BMW pulley holder wrench thingy (looks like a big soap bubble stick w/ 3 holes to bolt it to the pulley) so torqueing the crank pulley was a lot easier this time!
I installed the pulley using some threaded rod w/a nut and washers, then got it "tight" w/the old bolt, then cleaned the hell out of the threads before installing the new bolt w/a lot of Locktite Red (cleaned teh blue crap off teh bolt 1st).
No issues so far... (wish me luck!)... The car even cleared the "service engine soon" light all by itself! It was on last night (residual from when the belt shredded) but when I started the car this morning it was gone.
I'll use my scan/reset tool to check teh codes regardless tonight when I get home...
