P.S....as I followed traffic through a construction zone this weekend at 25 over the advisory speed I thought of your post!

atleast now you have awareness that you were speeding in a construction
zone which is an expensive violation. specially in IL, first offense is $650
with 1yr supervision, second offense will result in a suspended license
and possibly jail time and over $1K in fines.

and no, you and i do not drive a like. I slow down in construction zones.

I know that it only means "you're ****ed" when it goes off but I don't even get that FYI in a response to another one of your posts I DID mention I have seen how it works from both sides of the LIDAR gun, I'm quite familar with the system thank you.

Just finished further stealthification of install
Can't say I share your problem. I have never had mine obviously false laser and it has picked up laser every time I have seen it (which is mostly at traffic lights here).

Hmmm. I didn't think those things were laser controlled. I had a Mercedes with laser controller speed control, though....

I get LIDAR falses all the time, form Trailblazers tailights once (as manual said was normal) from our overhead automatic tolling system (the side lighted version doesen't set it off) I've had it false off of headlights in the daytime, and reflection of the sun off other cars. I generally ignore it now.

The V1 is the only detector that actually has optics to spread its laser reception to a more wide angle than just the straight LED that everything else has. Even so, a well-aimed laser at close range will still hit too low for even the V1 to detect.

Because the V1 has less picky filtering on laser, it is set off by Infinitys, trailblazers, and sometimes strobe lights and neon signs. While a jammer or more picky detector will wait for several pulses at a specific pulse rate, the V1 errs on the side of early warning/randome scatter and goes off with a much wider criteria.

I didn't say I was speeding, I did slow down. Here they don't bother to reduce the speed limit. So people don't have to slow down, and don't.

People working in a construction zone??? Now that is something I've never seen!
They (apparently) do their work after midnight. But the zones are there for a month.

really... in our town they promptly start at 7:30am in the middle of morning
rush hour, take a break all day, and then restart at 4:30pm for the evening
rush hour.

but this might be because everyone is speeding so much during the
lighter traffic they're too scared to work until people slow down due
to congestion.

That's cuz you're in illinois, where there are two seasons: winter and construction. Here, they don't bother unless concrete is falling on people!
