How to know if my JCW Recaro seats have heating?

Hi,

My 2010 Pre-LCI Mini (which I bought last month) has the JCW Recaro Seats. They look fantastic and are very comfortable, but I would like to know if they have heating.

Regarding Recaro website, it depends on the model...

They look to be heated, Its based on if your MINI has the heated seat option before they were installed. Check for heated seats buttons near the toogle bank , then if the wire is plugged in under the seat.

Hi,

My Mini didn't have seated seats as default, but I'm wondering if the person who bought these knew that they were heated or not. In any case, thanks, I will check it later today!

You are welcome. Yes if your MINI was not already wired for it then its not in use with the Recaros.

Are you trying to add the heating option to your MINI? It's my understanding that all JCW Recaros are heated. There are 3 looms in that one harness connection so unless you have proper pinout for it, you can't utilize it unless there's retrofitting that you want to do, which I don't know if someone has done it..

Hi, I would really like to retrofit this option and take the most of my seats. If anyone can give some advice, it would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Some more news regarding this topic... I got official response from Recaro. See below... now I really want to do the wiring haha.

Dear customer,

due to our knowledge the seats inside your Mini JCW (Modelcode R 56) should be equipped with seat heater.

If you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact me.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Kind regards

Yea , they have the heaters, its the wiring from the MINI to the seats. You have to already have that ( heated seats option already ). I would have to dig into the wiring harness to see if you can get it separate like the Gen 1 MINIs. And they change out the toggle bank. Might be a big job and I dont know if would work.

Good luck.

What about this?

Would it be possible to connect my seats to this device?

That's some aftermarket kit. Anything is possible. , You would not install the heating element ( they are already there), just tap the wires into the connection under the seat.

Good luck.

I think you should just trade me for my GP2 Recaros or sell me them outright because my car has the heated seat option already and I use it every day (Canuckistan).
