Deactivating OC3 seat occupancy mat sensor

I have a 2008 R56 Mini Cooper S and am starting to get warnings on the passanger airbag. I believe it to be the seat occupancy mat sensor on the passenger seat. Here's
of me testing it. I don't plan on ever putting a child seat on the passenger.

I have been reading up and found that the OC3 sensor can be deactivated. Looking though NCSExpert I found these two in the ABG module: GK_OC3_POL and OC3; currently set to aktiv.

I would like to know if by setting these two or just the OC3, would be enough to get rid of the warnings in the car and have the all the airbags work normally. Would I need to unplug the sensor as well?
Here's a couple of out of focus pics of the underside of the seat.

I do not recommend removing the option for safety reasons. I think, you need to know what the issue is because this isnt normal.

Mini just sent a limited warranty extension for this issue for my 2008 R56. Good for 10 years or 120k miles. Too bad Im at 150k.

They will reimburse for past repairs. contact MINI.assistance@askMiniUSA.com or 1-866-275-6464 for OC3 seat occupancy mat.

Might be an option for me: my 2010 has less than 30K miles.

I received the same letter about a limited warranty extension for my 2008 Cooper S as well. Is there anything to do if the airbag warning light hasn't showed a problem, yet? The letter states that it is not notice of a recall or service.

07 r56 cooper s passenger occupancy. Mat

Jusy recently bought my mini. Noticed the warning lights and the dealer dropped the asking price for me because of it. Just wrote to mini to see what they would do being that the car is only at 50k miles but as far as the year is outside the recall.
I read that others were reimbursed for their parts. What parts did you purchase? Where and how much did mini reimburse? Thanks for your time in respinse.

I have a 2012 Mini Cooper S and got myself into trouble. I reached for the occupancy sensor connection from behind the seat and when trying to disconnect it broke the plastic connector on the vehicle side. Now I guess I have so solder the 3 wires together to the emulator. The wires on the vehicle side are Purple, Yellow/Black and Grey. Which colors from above connect to the brown, red, white respectively on the emulator?

Youre a very naughty boy. Is there more than one occupancy sensor on the passenger side seat?

Thanks for the schematic! I believe it is the one i highlited in yellow.

The connector I'm looking for can be seen from the rear of the seat underneath. It is usually clipped to the underside and has 3 wires. The connector from the mat itself in the seat has Brown, Red, White wires coming from the mat. The wires going to the vehicle on the mating side of that connector are yellow/black (maybe blue?), Purple/black, and grey. I'm trying to figure out which of these wires goes to the Brown, Red, White since I snapped the connector and all the wires were disconnected. I see the numbers on the Seat Mat side in the schematic, I'll go look at the broken connector to see if those match up.

ok i got a better picture of my wires and the location of the connector, as you can see they are nowhere near the colors listed in the schematic. can you please unbolt your seat and take a picture of the connector
on the schematic, would you guess pin 3 blu/blk is a ground since it connects to all the seat position and buckle sensors? and what is the "roof operating unit" connected to pin 2 (blu/yel)?

Why do you only have one connector dangling down? I have 2 large connectors.

You want me to take a pic of the small connector at the harness or the wriing to the seat?

the connector hanging down comes from the seat mat itself with brown/red/white wires. the other side of that is what i broke that has the 3 wires in question. can you take a picture of that entire connector so i can see what wires on the vehicle side go to the seat sensor?

And if you send me your VIN the ALLDATA search on your harness may be more fruitful.
