The problem is there are many different versions of this. I'm trying to find a set that works with my R53 2005 MCS. His above link does not work and the updated version I had from bcables installer does not work, though it connects just says invalid VIN. Common error.

What versions did you install? And what profile did you use in NCS Expert

The issue is when some folks install inpa. They are missing mini cooper r50/r53 option to select. You have to go I to configdat file an do some messing around to add this to your options.
With ncs expert I use revtor.

Yea Shrevemini was a real help, I cannot reproduce what he did fully on here. He needs to write a guide

That being said, now I'm getting CHASSIS is faulty when select F3 in NCS expert, hmm?

Yea if I click F3 after loading profile and clicking F1, then it says Chassis if Faulty. If I click OK then click F3 again it says

ZCS-ECU Error:
COAPI-1020: Datei konnte nicht zum Lesen geoeffnet werden C:\NCSexper\daten\r50\r50sgfam.dat

German clues?

File could not be opened for reading. There is no R50 folder there at all, do I need to add it from the first post or do you have a more updated set?

It been a while since I messed with ncs expert. I would search YouTube. That's where I figured out how to screw around in ncs expert.

Gosh I hate youtube it's so slow. I love forums because can skim and glance around. I'll see what I can find thanks.

This would take some time to test but couldn't you just copy all the folders/programs directly onto another win10 laptop to have all the correct files for this to work? I think that BMW coding tools program you used just updated these files. I'm sure it's more complex than that but perhaps not. Just an idea

Correct it is used to update the files. Just makes it much easier than farting around in each folder trying to figure out where everything goes 🤔.

I don't understand how to get the NETTODAT.TRC file created. I created NETTODAT.MAN and it still didn't appear when I read the FSW_PSW_TRC. I've been googling around having had much luck, anyone know how to do this? Like always most forums just assume you know how to get it already or have it. I just want to back it up for the BC1 module as instructed in the writeup

Everywhere I see just says read the module you want and NETTODAT.TRC is created. It is NOT in my case.
