I have followed the directions from NCSEXPERT for beginners thread https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...beginners.html

I have been able to successfully enable Comfort closing (KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB) and have the digital speed always on (DIG_SPEED_PERMANENT). I am trying to enable the blinking alarm light but have unsuccessful. I could add the value in KOMBI but not in SPEG. Every time I try to read the SPEG ECU, I get the infamous BEST error.

Later on I plan on buying the MINI alarm. What other values must be set so it can function correctly after installed?

Upgrade your EBIASAS (sp) to 7.2 and your daten files to v41. I couldn't access the speg module until i did this.

And I just made this exact mod this week! Works great.

 

Great! Got it! I can even access the FRM module without problems.
For anyone who needs it, I found the latest BMW Standard Tools 2.10 with the EDIABAS 7.2 here.

I uninstalled the original version I had, installed the new one and then copied over the PFL (profile) file, the new V41 Datens I found on a torrent, just like the original instructions.

No problems!

Uninstalled the older BMW Standard tools first installed the new version and followed the same instructions from the original PDF but using Datens V41 I found from a torrent.

In general BEST errors with NCSExpert are related to the versions of files you have vs. the versions of the ECUs in the car. MINIs built after summer of 2010 probably should be using v45 files. But the version files are backward compatible, so you should always update.
