NCS Expert for dealer-programmable options?

Has anyone else used this software successfully on an r50/52/53 to change the dealer-programmable options?

I have found most of them in the BC1 and KMB modules, but there are still a few that seem not to be documented - does anyone have other options to contribute?

This is what I have so far:

Central Locking
--------------------------------------------
Automatic locking after starting off
BC1 module - VERRIEGELN_AUT_AB_X_KM/H

Automatic unlocking after engine off
BC1 module - ENTRIEGELN_B_MOTOR_STOP

Unlock all doors with remote (instead of driver's door first press, then all with second press)
BC1 module - ZV_SELEKTIV and FERNBEDIENUNG_1/2/3/4
-- set ZV_SELEKTIV nicht_aktiv AND
-- set FERNBEDIENUNG for each key (1-4) to einstiegshilfe

Window Regulator/slide/tilt/sunroof

--------------------------------------------
Convenient opening - open windows/sunroof/convertible with key in lock
BC1 module - KOMFORTOEFFNUNG_SCHLOSS
Closing windows/sunroof/convertible top from remote
BC1 module - KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB

Lighting

--------------------------------------------
Daytime Driving Light (dimmed high beams as DRL)
BC1 module - GED_FL_ALS_DRL
Follow-Me-Home (not active/40s/90s/150s/240s)

BC1 module - HEIMLEUCHTEN

Windscreen wipers

--------------------------------------------
Stop wipers when car is stationary
BC1 module - STANDRUECKSCHALTUNG

Acoustic Warnings
--------------------------------------------
Fuel Warning

KMB module - AKUSTIK_TANK_RESERVE

Displays/Language

--------------------------------------------
Units

Temperature (degrees f/degrees c)

KMB module - TEMPERATUR_EINHEIT

Hi alwzopn,

I am very very interested in do it in my Mini R53 06, but I can´t find in the forum a lot of information to do this in the R53 Minis.

What cable are using it ? what software ? and did you find the instructions for the R53 ?

Please tell me, really I am very interested in this, the first thing that I need is to up the windows and close the sunroof with the control key.

Thank you in advance!!

I don't think there's a setting in the 1st gen for auto-up windows.

Okay, I looked back through the BC1 trace file and googled a few options. It looks like

KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB set to AKTIV

should do it.

NCS Dummy translates this as "COMFORT CLOSING WITH REMOTE (POWER WINDOWS, SUNROOF OR CONVERTIBLE TOP)".

Dear alwzopn,

As I told I am very very interested in do this, could you help me ??, please!!

First I will buy my cable, do u have the link to buy exactly the one that you bought ??

Then I will download the software that is here in the 2nd Gen forum, is that one that u use ??

I never did something similar to any of my cars, do I have to be a programmer or an expert in things like this ??

Finally which instructions do u already install ?

Thank you so much, I hope u can answer my question to buy my cable immediately. =)

I have this cable, though from a different vendor - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/220869774556

I did follow the directions from the 2nd gen forum - I used to have an R56, and the same installation methods apply to both.

I would suggest being very careful and following all the directions very closely. It is possible to mis-code the modules and break something. If you aren't comfortable with this, you may not want to go ahead with this.

I don't understand this question.

Ok, now I have fear hehehe, I know very well the computer things, but as I told you I never do/did something like this.

Is it risky ?? the software is difficult ? so you tell me if I do something wrong I could break the Mini´s computer ???

The last question was..... what instructions did you install to your Mini with this software ??

I don´t know what to do!!!!!

I love my car and will be fantastic install/program a few instructions that I want/need, like the one to up the windows with the remote control.

It is risky. I have read that there have been reports of modules being damaged by bad coding. If this is not a chance you want to take, you should definitely buy the windows up module.

I used it to enable one-touch unlock for all doors with the remote and to disable the DRLs.

Looks like that one ships from the UK. If you have no problem with that, then it does look like it should work.

Is this also possible with an R53? If so, what software is necessary to drive the cable?

NCS Expert is the software.

I don't understand your question about the R53 - possible as opposed to what? This is the 1st Gen forum, isn't it?

My Father in law with a 2006 R53 is interested in having his lights come on when the windshield wipers come on. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I've never seen any options for this, I don't think it's even possible considering the headlights are on a physical switch. Maybe if the auto headlights were linked to the wipers and/or rain sensor. But like I said, this doesn't sound like an option I've ever seen.

There is a daytime running light option if you use the SSS software. I didn't notice any for on with wipers. A good partner for NCS is NCSdummy.

They have done a lot of work.

Just did the daytime running light code and the convienient closing using the key fob. I have purchased the rear fog light and the switch. Does anyone know if this can be turned on using ncs? It's a dealer programmable option.

I found this online, It looks like there is a setting in the BC1 to have auto up on the windows. I just did it on my car and it works.

I dont have the rear fog light switch to test, so you will have to do a little trial and error. It looks like in NCS for BC1 just set 'REAR_FOG_ENABLE' line to active

Code:
REAR_FOG_ENABLE
	aktiv

I think what the OP was talking about was to just follow the write up from the R56 guys. After you get the software installed you should have all the data files for any generation car, and you use what is appropriate for your car.

Hope this helps.

Any update on this? You can turn it on using NCS Expert but curious if you have done it or not.
