HID lights

I'm thinking of getting a set of HIDs for my car. If I buy the OEMs, are they just plug and play?

yup, the ballasts have to be wired in to receive power. not really a "plug and play" more like a "cut/splice, plug, and play"

And the levelers need to be setup to be legal

Levelers not required by law in the US. But still a nice courtesy to others...

(I've searched and searched and have never found a federal or state law regarding the levelers. Best I saw was a UK law and a Japanese proposal)

Search is your friend, this has been covered in great detail Its plug and play for some years, and you dont need levelers or washers to be legal.

There are many cars that offer OEM HID that have neither washers or levelers in the US. I think you need them in Europe, but not sure....
