auto-on OEM foglights

anybody have a DIY that will set the default for my OEM foglights to ON whenever my headlights are on, and allow me to use the OEM toggle switch to turn them off?

thanks.

There's no real DIY, but you can get Ian Cull's Auto-up circuit with AFF (auto front fogs)
I loathe the 'all fogs, all the time concept', but here you go.

yup windows. sorry.
when i first started going to these forums i saw an 'auto-up' kind of thread and thought nothing of it until later realizing how annoying it is turning, downshifting, and trying to put the windows up at the same time.

for auto-on fogs, it appears that it will not work well with the OEM auto-on headlights. am i reading the gbmini website notation correctly? i have an '06 model.

website note:
UPDATE: I do not recommend the “AFF” circuit with “auto-on headlights” (available on MINIs built from January ‘05); if the headlights come on (perhaps in a tunnel), the “AFF” will turn on the front fogs too - but now when daylight returns the headlights will remain on, because they are programmed in the MINI to stay on if the front fogs are on. So “auto-on headlights” become “once-on headlights”, staying on till the car is switched off!

i ignored that.
i have a 2006 and my daytime running lights are on 24/7 and i have no auto-headlights.
so that..pretty much has nothing to do with my (maybe your) car.

I have an '06 with the auto headlights and Ian's AFF circuit. The discalimer is true but I don't really find it to be a problem. If your headlights turn on due to going through a tunnel or a passing cloud, then they won't turn off automatically if you've enabled auto front fogs. If you want your lights off at this point, just turn the headlight switch from Auto to Off. You can then re-arm back to Auto if you wish and the headlights will stay off until the next time it gets dark enough to turn them back on.

Ditto.

Fog lights are meant for fog. All they do in non-fog situations is add unnecessary extra glare for other drivers.

Mine stay off at all times... unless (guess what?) there's fog! Fog lights are also more likely to burn out than the main headlights, because they aren't designed to be used day-in and day-out like the main lights are.

That's my opinion anyway.
