EIM Border "Re-Skirmish" Drive -- June 20th
Yes, it's the re-scheduled BSD (now the "BRSD") -- now on for Saturday, June 20th.
The original info is repeated below. Changes since then include the following:
1. miniturns and EIMTeal braved the forecast and pre-drove this route on the original date, managing to dodge the rain, and reported experiences of "...had a blast taking the route...", "...a lot of fun...", and "...very nice route." Positive endorsements!
2. The owner at the Welcome Inn in Elizabeth expects a bigger lunch crowd in June and so is offering us a soup and salad bar lunch for ~$5.99 to control the volume of grill orders (although limited separate orders will still be available; he just doesn't want to be inundated by them). He is willing to make soup(s) that day based on our desires, so if you have a favorite variety post a reply in this thread and we'll pass it along!

Let's hope for a beautiful day this time!

At first blush, it would seem that a drive from Bellevue to Dubuque would constitute a rather abbreviated 25 mile journey...but you'll discover that the route mostly takes advantage of some great secondary roads on the Illinois side of the river which, quite frankly, are in better condition for the most part than many of Iowa's primary roads.
The EIM Border Skirmish Drive passes through Iowa's only island town (Sabula) and once across the border, Mt. Carroll, Elizabeth, Hanover, Savanna, Galena, and back into Iowa with the finish in Dubuque.
Other highlights include a photo op in Sabula, a lunch stop in Elizabeth, the scenic overlook at Mississippi Palisades State Park, a rest and shop stop in Galena, and a wrap-up dinner at a popular family restaurant in Dubuque.
The EIM Event Calendar Entry (<--link) here on NAM includes additional information and links to (1) a Google route map and (2) a detailed set of driving directions. You'll also find the sign-up link here, which will help make sure we know to expect you.

Angel and I might stop by at the start in Bellevue and do a little visiting, But we have so much going on that day we simply can't do the road trip. But a few notes from the last trip with Miniturns.
The Phillips 66 in Elizabeth has 93oct. But it's only got 4 pumps, and It's Prepay. I'd recommend gassing up in small shifts.
There are a lot of really nice twisties in Palisades St park. Lots of fun.
The back roads are nice and pretty smooth. really fun to turn it up a little.

Great to see everyone, particularly newbies ksmartin (and daughter) and wahwee. Loved being surprised by the brand new F56 of srmitch2! And it was great seeing Coalvalleyers (Mike R.) and lapshoffman (Pam H.) after their recent challenges. So good to see ya.
