Heartland British Autofest in Davenport -- 4-5 Aug
Can't make the long trip out to Colorado for MITM this year? Fear not, for there is a local opportunity for MINI fun that weekend. 
The 25th Annual Heartland British Autofest will once again be happening in the Quad Cities on Saturday and Sunday, 4-5 August. This event is sponsored by the Quad Cities British Auto Club and consists of a leisurely Saturday afternoon car cruise with a bunch of other cool British cars followed by dinner at a nice local venue. The primary event on Sunday consists of an awesome car show along the main street in the Village of East Davenport.
Here are the specifics:
Saturday, 4 August:
~3:00 pm - meet in the parking lot of Jumer's Casino, 777 Jumer Drive, Rock Island, IL
4:00 pm - Depart for a scenic cruise to dinner at Steventon’s located at 1399 Eagle Ridge Road, Le Claire, IA
After dinner - Return to the QC as a group via a new route
Sunday, 5 August:
8:00 am - Car registration begins at the Village of East Davenport
8:00 am to Noon - Registration continues; car detailing and prep as desired
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm - Voting by all participants
3:00 pm - Awards Ceremony (must be present to win)
4:00 pm - End time for car displays
Bring your lawn chair so you can chill out and relax in the shade of Lindsay Park when you're not checking out or voting on all of the other sharp British cars.
**Note: The QCBAC prefers that you register by mail in advance so they can plan for the dinner, etc. New MINIs (post-2001) are entered in Class L. You must register directly with QCBAC. Here is a link to the registration form:

Both days of this Autofest are great fun and a neat opportunity to meet some new, friendly, like-minded enthusiasts while showing off your MINI.
