i don't have a difinitive answer but I'd imagine it has to do with the collar and the pully meeting. Maybe push the color closer to the sc to try and loosen it's grip on the supercharger.

If all else fails maybe you can heat up the pully without heating the color too much with a heat gun?

I called Alta Tech service and told them the senario and they walked me through getting it off. The method of using the supplied screws in the smaller 2 holes to pry it off didn't work. So I had to use a punch and a hammer to get the pulley off the neck. Well I ordered the version 2 to replace my version 1. So thread is closed!!!!!!

Let us know how you like your V2 pulley. I'm thinking of stepping from my V1 19% to a V2 15%

This is a funny thread, just yesterday I was trying to get my 19% V1 off of my S/C core.

It pretty much came down to just having to tug on it a lot. I think a slide hammer would have been really nice, but if your pulley is on the car, there's no room for it.

And why you are changing alta v.1 to alta v.2?

You just wasting your money. Nothing else......

He's going from a *19%* V1 to a *15%* V2. He didn't say why - possibly he's going with an oversized crank pulley as well?

I don't think he's expecting any gains solely from the fact that the new pulley is a V2 and the old one was a V1 - it's probably just a matter of what was available when he bought his 19% and what's available now that he's looking for a 15%.

Riquiscott is pretty much on the money. My reason for changing has nothing to do with the fact that its a V2 I'm perfectly happy with my V1 pulley. I plan on getting an ECU tune and would rather boost up my redline a bit with a 15% pulley for the benefit of slightly longer gears as opposed to keeping it at stock with the 19% pulley. Not to mention high power AND torque numbers are being made with the 15% so why overdrive the supercharger and the water pump more than necessary...

OK, you have that reason. But people has changed their pulleys just to be cool.

The cheaper pulley on the market works as well as the most expensive.

Haha true true, that's not my style and not to mention I don't have money to be blowing away for no reason. Hell, if someone offers up a V1 15% for a good price when I decide to switch I'll buy one of those. You can't even see the pulley so I'm no concerned about looks.
