removing a pully

I'm pretty good with working on a car. So i post this thread not to ask how to remove the pully. But, to ask if anyone knows if the mini pully removal tool differs from say a pully removal tool for a mustang cobra. My buddy owns a cobra and recently got himself a pully removal tool. And i'd love to save some cash and use his. But, i don't want to get the engine lifted form the car only to realize thatthe tool doesn't fit. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a great "how to" from Webb Motorsports http://store.webbmotorsports.com/for...topic.php?t=17

A specail tool is required, there are many differenty types now, and many vendors lend them out. I have one that I loan out, but it is on its way the the bayarea this week, after that you're welcome to it.

Welcome to NAM.

Without seeing the puller I can't tell you if it would work or not.
You can PM me & I'll lend you the tools, pulley puller & tensioner tool.
The puller is like this http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/NM.../InvDetail.cfm easy to use.
The tensioner tool is a home built - works well.

if you haven't purchased a pulley yet, we loan a pulley removal tool free if requested with the purchase of one of our pulleys

I think this how-to should be revised. I didn't remove or unbolt anything on the drivers' side of the car when I did mine.
Why would you need to remove the complete airbox assembly to change the pulley that is on the opposite side of the engine? I don't get it.

i think they have you do that to not crush anything when jacking the motor up. they also want you to take off the drivers side motor mount, I didnt remove that or the air box. but I did lossen up the hose clamps. This was the second time I have done my pulley and this time was WAY faster.
