What exactly seems to be the problem with the fit?

I pull the center up and when I put it on the shifter the center thing will not go back over the bearings to keep it attached. It will come off with just a slight pull. It worked on the stock shifter just fine.

Did you install the thread adapter for the stock **** that came with the CravenSpeed Short Shifter?

It's kind of hard for me to tell from the pictures on their website, but it looks to me as though their adaptor differs a bit from the stock shift lever.

Looks like there just isn't any clearance under the locking groove to accommodate the collar of my shift ****.

Do you agree?

Yes, it needs to be a little bit wider. Any suggestions?

The way I see it, some material has to come off of that large diameter on the adaptor.

I'd be happy to do that for you at no charge (it'll take all of 2 minutes), if you don't mind shipping it to me.

Not sure what other options you have, if you want to use one of my ***** with that lever.

I found a way to take off just a little bit off the edge. Thanks for your offer.

I've got a Craven SS waiting to be put in after Christmas and I have a Whalen shifter. I thought it was supposed to fit without any adaptor, They say it's just like the stock shifter as far as mounting. What needs to be shaved off ? .

Well I just had to know if it would fit so I just went out and got my **** out of the car and because I had already opened the box to the shifter (dont tell Santa) I put it on and with just a little shove, it went on like a champ. Fit's like a glove. I hate it when you wake up Christmas morning and your toy's don't work . I just love my Whalen !

Good to hear it fit OK for you.

It seems the first dozen adapters Craven Speed made months back had to be slightly modified in this manner to work properly with the Whalen. We wanted to accomadate Whalen's fantastic shift ****, even though the adapters worked with the stock **** alright. There will be no future issues with any manufactured after this initial revision. We would glady send a new adpter to anyone who is experiencing any troubles fitting the ****.

I had no problems putting my whalen on my Craven SS and never saw an adaptor in the box. After I read the post complaining about the lack of fit, I went and got my Walen and put it on the SS. I haven't installed the SS yet. I have to wait till after Christmas .
